1 oz tapioca is 100 calories. 1 cup is 500 some, I think...

The black tea is fine (it has caffeine, but still).

Generally there's cream and milk in it as well, depending on the sort.

Tapioca is just carbs, a bit of sugar, that's all.

Avoid bubble tea if you can, most places cram it with an unbelievable amount of sugar. If your black tea was plain then there's already a lot of entries for tapioca pearls in MFP's database

Right! *smacks forehead* And the sugar! Forgot that part. I generally make it at home with Splenda, so I forget.

I get hot tea unsweetened, and bring a packet of stevia :P
HOWEVER, the place I go to will brew red beans as a tea with milk, and I can't get away from it! At least there's no sugar!
And the tapioca, yeah.. an ounce is good IMO. But I believe you can still have it and be fine!

Love me some bubble tea. I know there are places inside the Loop. Used to be one near Auntie Chang's (Westheimer/Shepard corner-where the Randall's is).

Also, I think there's a teahouse in the Rice University area.
