Healthy eating is having a small mango sorbet instead of a mint choc chip ice cream

Why? What if the mango sorbet is higher in calories? What if the ice cream has more protein to help me hit my macros? What if I don't want or like the sorbet. What if I am trying to gain weight and the ice cream can help me hit my goals.14

Healthy eating for me is meeting my nutrient goals and still having mint chocolate chip ice cream. Or maybe raspberry (not mango) sorbet. Whichever one fits into my calories.8

Eating mostly what you want without going over on calories and making sure you are above the real minimum (the grams needed for your size/weight/age, not the amount calculated by percentage) on the macros and are eating enough fruits and veggies to get vitamins, minerals and fiber. Sustainable is healthy.4

Of all the random, no context first posts I've seen, this one is pretty out there.....16

Healthy eating is about the totality of things I eat all day long, so that I hit my protein minimum, hit my fat minimum, get plenty of veggie and fruit servings for micronutrients and fiber (5+ servings is good, 10+ is better), all within my calorie goal.
If I still have calories left, healthy eating includes using them to eat whatever I want: An apple, mango sorbet, carrots, Dark Chocolate Talenti Gelato, some fresh lychee, a candy bar, non-fat yogurt with berries, or a craft beer (usually IPA for me).4

Why is mango sorbet healthier than mint chocolate chip ice cream? Just because it probably has some fruit in it?
What if I already had some fruit today, and I have enough room in my calorie and fat goals to have ice cream?
Welcome, and quick tip - it's a really good idea to read a forum for several days before jumping in and making general statements like that. Hopefully you'll stick around for a while and get a feel for the place, because there's a lot of great info here :drinker:
And PS - I hate mango. Blech. No way I'd waste calories on mango anything, wouldn't be good for my mental health.7

Healthy eating is having Doritos instead of Tide Pods.10

            Just for comparison:
Talenti Alphonso Mango Sorbetto: 140 calories/33 grams sugar per serving (100 grams)
Talenti Mediterranean Mint Gelato: 230 calories/29 grams sugar per serving (99 grams)2

90 calories oughtta cover a small glass of prosecco as well as the sorbetto, so maybe worth the tradeoff. 0 0

'Healthy' eating can lead to nutrichondria. Nutrichondriacs avoid dairy and gluten at all costs, regardless if they've ever actually been tested for any kind of food allergy. It also means being devoted to the lastest food trends and diets and eating nothing that's 'dirty'. Dirty eating is a sin. 1 in 3 believe they're allergic to dairy and 1 in 4 believe that they're allergic to gluten, almost all by self-diagnosis. This is followed by self-induced restriction of 4 or 5 food groups. So eat food you enjoy on your own terms.6

Healthy eating is refueling with a brisket burger and a beer after a 5k.8
