And I am not talking about the fish off the Little Mermaid....

I am just lost (which is weird cause I have the background to be insanely fit).
I have no clue how to save my diet.
I have no clue how to stick with a work out plan to get results.

I am just driftin in the wind here people!

Cheer up...Tomorrow is a new day and you can start there. You can do it! The best place to start is by beginning to log in your food. That's where I started and I could really see where I was and werer I wanted to go. Just hang in there, it will get better...

Maybe just start from stratch. Have you considered changing up your calorie intake each day? I don't know you have stumped me:ohwell: Maybe skip a week of working out since you said you started loosing after you slowed down on the exercise.

    C. Bunny-I am in the exact same rutt. I am so down, I've eaten crap, cried and slept today. I have health issues that worry me, and I'm constantly fighting to be strong. This is one issue in my life I have control of, and even that now have lost it. No motivation to exercise, no control of eating and just continue to get low. I wish you could come over and hang out. Maybe we'd get productive together...

    I am torn....
If I work out I kinda hit a stand still....but look hot
If I don't work out I lose weight BUT the appearance isn't so hot.

So, do I lose weight or just tone and keep the weight til it finally lets go.

Hey Bunny, I remember reading your post over the weekend about weight vs. feeling toned. Do you think, it's possible your body is content with the weight you are at currently? You mentioned that when you hit the gym you tone quickly but you aren't happy with the scale just wondering if your body is sending a signal to you that it might like where it's at for the time being since you've shared you've been struggling for awhile?

    Just some thoughts

 big hugs to you. it is a challenge and i'm glad you've recognized it and turned here for support. for me, the food diary has been a huge help.
steps to feel better/motivated: workout for just 10 minutes, clean some part of your house, write a letter to someone you're grateful for (don't need to send it), treat yourself w/non food, try tolearn a new hobby (so you can again see yourself accomplish something), watch a funny movie, don't buy the food you have a hard time being around (for me, it's cookie dough) so that you don't have to be so strong in the first place, browse thru an office supply store, put on music and dance a few minutes, revisit your reasons for getting fit/losing weight, find inspirational quotes and post them where you can see them many times, go to a joke a day website, get/give hugs.
sorry to go on and on. i think this list was a reminder for myself too! you have come pretty far already, so just keep steady--like the infamous tortoise.
we can all do this--get healthy little by little.

    Thanks you guys.
I will keep doing...something, cause I can't just accept being this size/weight forever.
Not if so many others are seeing such great results,.

    ChubbyBunny,

You've got this. I would love to tell you that this road is all rainbows and butterflies, but it's more of a journey. Start from scratch? Nah. You've begun the journey. No one said you wouldn't encounter a few bumps in the road. We all have our setbacks, but tomorrow is a new day. We only have one body, and I believe that fitness (not just weight loss) is the ultimate goal. Fitness is not just the physical, but the mental stability and preparation as well.

Write down your goals. Weight. Clothing size. Why you're doing it. Specifically. Take your measurements. Take progress pictures every 30 days. Give yourself tangible ways to see yourself making progress. Identify what causes pitfalls. Avoid them at all costs. Toxic friend who undermines your goals in order to make him/herself feel better? Going to the grocery store hungry? Excuses? Know your ultimate goal. Set mini-goals along the way. And not to get all new-agey on you, but meditate. Envision yourself at your goal. What do you look like? How do you feel? How has your life changed now that you've embraced a new, healthier lifestyle? Find support. Message boards to keep yourself accountable and for inspiration. People with similar goals will help you through. It's better to be on a team than to go it alone.

As for the working out. Just DO IT! Working out will allow your skin to have time to bounce back when you lose those unwanted pounds. Have you ever heard of, or better yet, seen a SKINNY FAT person? Thin, well within a healthy weight range, but with no muscle tone? Not attractive. A woman who weighs 145 pounds, with solid muscle and tone can be a size 2, while a woman who weighs 120 pounds with no lean muscle can be a size 6. Which would you rather be? Ultimately, we want to lose fat, not weight. Also, remember how accomplished you felt after a tough workout. The endorphins from working out are REAL! You feel good, you give off confidence, you look good. People appreciate confidence, and the more confidence you gain, the more you'll be inspired to keep going.

On a final note, if you are brave enough, post your starting stats, your current stats, and your goal stats. Ask questions, seek advice, seek support. We are here for you.

    Hi ChubbyBunny,

I forgot to mention that everyone is on a journey, and your accountability will motivate others as well. For every person posting, there are probably 5 others lurking and going through the same thing you are. We are all here to help you, but above all, you should desire to help yourself. Forgive me for being too nosy, but I checked your profile, and you have a lot of negative self-talk. Please do not let yourself fall into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Envision yourself as healthy, not as the fat girl. Envision the moment you get to see your husband when he gets home. Seek to be an example for your daughter. Think of all the reasons you are thankful to be here, and see every day as an opportunity to improve your mind and your body instead of feeling hindered by negative thoughts. I hope you find the information helpful and please let us know your progress to date.

I didn't mean to stop working out all together just a week to see what your body does with it. And starting from stratch meant re-evaluationg your goals and starting from there. I still think you should play with your calorie intake:ohwell:

Hey C Bunny, how are you doing? I had a good day so far and I hope you do too. Keep on journalling, try even a bit of exercise-once you get going you'll get back into it.. :smooched: Give it a try and challenge yourself for the St. Patty's Challenge. I know how you feel. Try a little of something-any bit will make you feel good.:drinker:  Kath

    Hey there!

I remember reading an article in SHAPE magazine that discussed how when we work out, our muscles will hold onto water...and something like you should workout every other day so the body has time to repair and release.

I also remember telling my friend Claudia about this, because she was so frustrated with working out so hard, and not seeing the scale budge. Sure enough, she went to working out every other day for a week or so...and she would see a budge every two days...so....I'm not a doctor, but based on what you're saying and what I've read, possibly your body is retaining water while it repairs itself from workout???

Hang in there!!! Sunny days are ahead!
