To hill or not to hill...

I'm currently training for a marathon, scheduled for mid October. I just completed week 9 of the 18 week training schedule. Next Saturday, I am entered in a 30k race in Toronto. Here's my dilemma. Should I ease off a wee bit this week from my scheduled training plan runs in order to be fresher for the long race next week (specifically the gruelling hill workout that I'm supposed to do on Tuesday), or continue as planned, do the hills onTuesday as well as the other scheduled runs this week, and suck it up next weekend on race day ? I'm not overly concerned with my time next weekend, as an fyi. I just want to run it at basically the same pace I've been training at on my long run days (which are Saturdays). Any thoughts or suggestions ?

Continue what you're doing - you'll only get stronger. And don't forget to "carb up" the night before the marathon!0

How long would you have run on Saturday according to your training plan if you were not running that 30K race?
If your long run would have been about the same distance, I'd say stick with your training plan as is.
But if you would normally run a shorter distance and are upping your mileage because of the race, I'd say take it easy and do not risk an injury.0 -
Well, that sort of depends - what's the distance of your scheduled long run on Saturday (what would you be doing if you weren't running the 30K)?0
