Hi im 40 5 ft 1 and 10 stone 8. My bmr is 1355. My calorie intake is 1200 but haven't incorporated any exercise as of yet. Interested to know would i lose weight as iam or would i have to exercise? If so how many calories a day would I have to burn to lose 2lb a week? Ty x

Your BMR is what you'd burn if you were basically comatose. Just waking up and sitting in bed burns more than that. It's too early for me to convert stone to pounds, but yes, you'll lose without exercise at 1200.

I may add more to this after I wake up, if no one else has.

Personally, I would bump myself to 1400 or 1500 and do some walking or something else that will give you a couple hundred extra calories. 1200 is very hard.

You will lose weight if you eat 1200 calories, but you'll also lose weight if you eat 1400 calories. The thing, that MFP unfortunately doesn't tell you at setup, is that you can't lose 2 pounds of fat per week at your weight; if you lose more than, say, 0.7-1 pound, more and more of it is going to be muscle. And as the muscle:fat ratio gets more and more skewed, the more hungry and lethargic and irritable you get, and this is where you start to self-sabotage, of which the most innocent strategy is sloppy logging. If you're not in a true calorie deficit, you won't lose weight.
