Eating more to be healthier????

My main issue is I don’t eat enough through the day. I normally only have my evening meal (sometimes not even that).

I struggle to eat more than one meal a day. I seem to eat out of need rather that wanting to.

I feel eating little bits more often would do me good rather than stuffing my face of an evening.

Does anyone have tips or suggestions that might help?

There is nothing inherently wrong with eating one meal a day, provided you are able to meet your calorie and nutritional needs by doing so (I imagine it could be difficult to hit vitamin and micronutrient goals unless the meal is well balanced).

On the other hand, if you are chronically under-eating and not meeting your calorie goal, and that it what you are concerned about, that is a different issue (I am unclear if you are concerned about your actual caloric intake or the fact that you're eating one meal a day) and I would recommend eating small amounts of calorie and nutrient dense foods throughout the day - things like nuts, nut butter, dark chocolate, avocados, adding good oils and fats to cooking, etc. But without knowing more about the situation and your goals and stats it's hard to give appropriate advice.

How long have you been eating this way?
Do you have enough energy to exercise?
What is your weight doing and is that what you want?

Meal timing and number of meals is personal preference. If the way you eat has you getting the right calories, enough nutrition, adequate energy, and comfortable sleep it's most likely fine.

I feel I’m not getting the correct nutrients. I’m sure I hit calories when I do eat even although it’s not the best food to eat. Fast food etc..

No energy to do anything. Always tired although sleeping plenty. My weight has always been where it needs to be for my height/age although I have noticed I have put on more weight the last couple of months.

Work does have a role to play. Although I get hungry, I don’t feel the need to eat (I know I should). Busy schedule of a day no energy of an evening.

So obviously it's not working for you.

Why don't you eat throughout the day? What stops you? What keeps you from eating something before you go to work, from taking a lunch break?

I feel ill if I eat in the morning. I can’t stomach breakfast, never have.

I have a lunch break at work, I just don’t fill the time with eating. I never have an appetite

What are your stats? Are you trying to gain weight or just eat 'better'?

But if you don't think it's working for you, why not pack a lunch and eat it for a week or two and see if it helps your energy? Bring a cup of coffee and a piece of fruit to eat when you get to work?

You can be healthy eating one meal a day, but if you are struggling to get enough nutrition into that one meal and are lacking energy during the day, you might want to put some effort into changing your habits
