I've just started using MyFitnessPal along with my Fitbit in a bid to try and lose some post baby weight.

Does anyone have any good low cal lunch ideas that tastes nice? I tried something new today and it was rubbish.

Thanks

What do you normally eat, and what did you try today that was rubbish? What do you think is nice?

I usually take a salad and a hard boiled egg for lunch. Sometimes I will take leftovers (though I usually use those for dinners). My salads change up, though normally I have a bed of mixed greens of some variety, then I add whatever I have. Today I am using leftover stir fry for a part of it. So it will be mixed greens, broccoli slaw, stir fry (sweet potatoes, bell pepper, broccoli, and yellow squash), cashews, and a homemade Thai peanut dressing.

Then I will have a snack which is often cottage cheese or peanut butter crackers.

So when I plan meals for the week, I pick 4 meals and whenever I cook at dinner time, I always cook plenty for leftovers. So I will either eat leftovers for lunch, or if we don’t have enough for the both of us, I will make a sandwich and bring some fruit to go with it.

I alternate between leftovers, sandwiches, and lean cuisines.

I make myself some whole grain penne with chicken and pesto. I usually use premade chicken strips. It comes out to less than 400 calories and keeps me pretty full!

I found this recipe for a "crunchy thai rainbow chicken wrap" that is so good (and I usually hate wraps). They fill me up. I make smaller wraps than in the original recipe and toss some raw veggies in on the side if I am still hungry.

I just make a few at once and eat them over the week. They hold up well for 3-5 days.

One of my favorites is a buffalo chicken and avocado wrap. I get the fit and trim deli buffalo chicken, pepper jack cheese, and half an avocado on a low carb wrap usually around 350 calories.

Other simple easy lunches I enjoy are the morningstar black bean burgers on a wrap with a slice of cheese and some hummus. Quinoa with grilled chicken and bean salad. Birdseye protein blends with grilled chicken.
