Depends on what you are looking for. More protein per serving? PHD looks to be low per serving compared to others.
There are so many different proteins on the market and I have tried a lot. Personally I like Muscletech Nitro Tech. Milk chocolate flavored 160 cals and 30g of protein with 3g of creatinine monohydrate per serving. Taste good mixes well and not thick. Use it everyday post workout and if I am short on my protein goal for the day.0 -
Protein powder can be a convenient and low calorie way to help you hit your protein goal. That's all it is.
What are you looking for exactly in a protein powder? What are your goals? I like unflavoured powder I can add to anything which doesn't affect the taste very much.4 -
I use protolyte. I keep chocolate and vanilla on hand because I like to enhance it in other ways. It's 105 calories, 1 carb, 1g of fat and 24g of protein.
I mix it with just water a lot when I'm in a hurry, but when I have a moment, a scoop of PB2 is great in either flavors and/or berries and unsweet almond milk0 -
I like as much protein as possible while keeping calories as low as possible, and it still has to taste good.
The best brands I've found that meet that criteria are Quest and Trutein.5 -

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides is what I take. It’s only 9g of protein per packet, so that might not be enough for some.0

Beverly.

I buy protein from VPA (formally Venom Protein).
The only thing is they're an Australian company so I'm not sure if they ship internationally.0 -
Native way. 120 cals, 2 carbs, 25 protein with no artificial flavor or color.0
-
I like MyProtein's Impact Whey, it's got no more protein content than most but it tastes better to me. I particularly like the coffee caramel and the coconut flavours.
My advice would be to pick up some samples and find something you like, before committing to a full bag/tub.1 -
I like the flavor of pure protein brand and the price is reasonable too.0
-
I have 3 that I like
Allmax Isoflex
Magnum Quattro
Diesel Whey0 -
I second MyProtein. Super affordable and tasty. They constantly run sales too. It's the only place I can find 2lbs of whey for like $14 Canadian. I really like the Snickerdoodle flavour!0

I like optimum nutrition. I’ve branched out a couple times and didn’t like what I tried. So I think I’ll stick with ON. I get chocolate flavor and mix it into milk. Cost is also a factor. ON is pretty expensive but so are any other good ones that I’ve found.0
-
Whey protein doesnt work for me so I use Garden of Life Raw Meal - it's vegan, 115 cals, 20g protein, 1.5g fat, 8g carbs, 7g fiber, 1g sugar. I like it because it also includes a probiotic blend. Taste is good, not overly sweet, and texture is great for a vegan powder, its not super grainy.0

I haven't noticed that ON is that much more than any other.
Decent powders run around $10 a lb. ON Gold runs 10-12 per lb. Only reason I stopped using ON was because I really prefer tubs to bags.0 -
I just discovered RSP True Fit and really like it. The cinnamon and chocolate flavors are better than the vanilla. One thing I really like is that it has fiber from a fruit/veggie blend and probiotics as well.0
-
I like PEScience Snickerdoodle and peanut butter cookie. I also like Quest salted caramel and their vanilla. Even though I'm usually a chocolate lover, I do not care for either brand's chocolate protein flavor.0

Costco has it. Good with a banana and cocoa powder.0 -
I use Bodylogix (decadent chocolate) whey protein. All natural (stevia sweetener). I wanted something that didn't have megadoses of vitamins dumped into it. I buy it at the local grocery chain, but it's on Amazon too.0
-
I buy whey protein isolate and I employ hubby to make my shakes. I’m sure there is ice, banana, whey, milk and frozen fruit in them.0

Buy egg whites in liquid form and use them with frozen blueberries. Eat whole foods. Remember everyone's body metabolism will slow down. If you take proteins - you will get great results. But think about life - when you will stressed and stop working out - protein turned muscles turn bulky... So keep your weight low and you will thank me after 20 years. Fat cells cant just vanish, once they are formed - they remain inside your body forever.7

"Protein turned muscles turn bulky "????
Please explain.
Also please provide sources for these claims.3 -
@100_PROOF_ Well look at all bodybuilders post-retirement - If you studied Kreb cycle, and understand glucogenesis and gluconeogenesis - you will see a pattern of muscle wasting due to inactivity.. Yes bulky muscles (aquired from activities and diet that you cant maintain long term) & if not exercised long-term turn to bulky look. See retired rugby players. Besides, go to PubMed and read some Meta-analysis on long-term weight loss. Yes you will do great as long as you exercise and keep your muscles in an active state. But once you stop working out (pregnancy, stress, job loss, failed relations, adverse life incidents like the death of loved ones, depression.. your conditioning will suffer..)... Leptin & ghrelin response depends on stress, sleep etc. ...What I am saying is - Follow Life Long Approach to Fitness. Protein powders and any non-whole food approaches are not long-term solutions to cellular ageing and slowing of metabolism. Okinawans live beyond 90 and work in fields - they don't consume protein powders, they have a whole foods, lifelong approach to fitness. When you are lying on a hospital bed after an accident etc. or cant exercise daily due to stress - eating mindfully, cooking own food from raw ingredients, walking... this will go long way.4

I understand muscle wasting but you are using the word bulky and I think you might be meaning something else. I'm guessing there's a language barrier or maybe the word bulky means something different in your neck of the woods.1 -
You are a female and can appreciate aesthetics better than my gender I guess. 'Bulky' proportions whether muscle or fat - simply look bulky/big/heavily built/stocky/thickset when you wear clothes. In my opinion, if someone tells you that drink a protein shake, have insulin spike (makes you hungry) and get 24 g of proteins out of120 calories! Remember these gains are not long-term as your hunger cravings will soon catch up to you. Better try and achieve the same look by eating whole foods like eggs that don't produce insulin response, and you get better satiety. One trainer told me -having a good body for life is about eating less food and controlling hunger.5

I’ve been using organic. Anyone else ever tried it?1
-
Organic or non-organic - as long as its not ina packet with preservatives and added sugar, I'm cool with it.2
-
@quiksylver296 Ordered your recommendations. I use Click now which has a good flavor but it is lower on protein. I get most of my protein from fish which I love but some days I wouldn't mind "phoning it in" a little so I need a better substitute.0

I am currently enjoying Quest "Cinnamon Crunch" flavor. 100 cal, 1.5g fat, 5g carb (<1gsugar) and 20g protein. It tastes like the leftover milk at the bottom of a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch! YUM!
It is extra good made with unsweetened vanilla almond milk1
