Forgive me if this has been posted already, but what did you all do for V Day?

My boyfriend got me a box of chocolate covered cherries (I'm so geeked he remembered I love them) and a small box of heart shaped chocolates and a single red rose. He also got me the cutest funniest card.....he has been laid off and kind of lazy lately and the cartoon man on the front of the card very much resembled him laying on the couch surrounded in mess. The card said even though I am sure there are times you wanted to.....thanks very much for not strangling me in my sleep (now thats love). Haha.

We went to dinner at a nice restaurant....though I wasn't very pleased with it. Despite being very busy, our waiter seemed to give enough attention to every table but ours. He also brought me a medium rare steak rather than well done. Yuck....I could have possibly ate it still but it has some weird seasonings rubbed on top that pretty much tasted like grass. I didn't bother to send it back tho because I knew it would take another hour to get my food.

Then we went to see My Bloody Valentine and got the sh*% scared out of us. It was kind of cheesy, but scary and spooky nonetheless. Then around 2 am my boyfriend (who does snow removal) had to go out and work so I went with him, but I started falling asleep in the truck around 4 am.....so I slept on and off in the truck and we finally got home and to bed around 7 am. All in all it was a great night with my sweetie and I ate what I wanted and had fun, but today it's back to the routine.

We were extremely lazy most of the day....
I gave my boyfriend a cute-mushy card and a 20$ gift certificate to Home Depot (with a pic on the front of the word LOVE spelled in garden tools) & a note telling him that I love him and love that wood makes him happy (it does, it's his hobby) He had 18 roses delivered to me (no comment on that) We ate dinner with his parents - weird food, if you're interested in what read my blog!

Let me just say there was truly love in my air. I had great one. I am always reminded of why I love my husband. Guys I really love my husband a lot and never thought that I would love another person, who is neither my child nor related to me that way.. I am blessed to have him in my life. Let me stop here I could write a whole page...:happy:
  • Being an IT professional (tech junkie at home) my wife got me a card, chocolates ,(diet?) and a 500 gb external hard drive. This will come in handy for many computer projects I have going. I had to work this entire weekend, so we are doing something together on Monday. Last year I got her card, flowers, chocolate and Bose speakers for her laptop.

My husband had to work this weekend, 12 hour shifts, so I cooked supper at home. I got him some chocolates and some new cologne that he wanted and he had flowers sent to my work. That really surprised me because he hasn't sent flowers in probably 15 years. Overall we had a great VD at home.
  • I spent the day watching Arrested Development and playing a computer game called Overlord. Then I started watching Firefly.
Then when my housemate came home with his date I went into my room and watched Iron Chef.

Hubby and I had a very relaxing day together. We watched Bones and I made DH rice krispy treasts (his fav). He got me a present, but it didn't arrive even though he overnighted it. :frown: Then we went out for sushi and saw the new movie Push.
  • My hubby had the day off work

I asked him not to get me chocolates, I'm so weak I would've eaten the whole box in less than a day :grumble:

we exchanged cards  , he gave me flowers :flowerforyou: and we went to see Riverdance in the evening

We did family valentines day, cause we don't celebrate it with each other, we booked a hotel room at The great wolf lodge, the kids loved the indoor water park, we had spa manis and pedis, the ladies even put little heart stickers on the girls toes!, we ejoyed massages and some yoga.... we made sure to book a suite with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub, it was great!

Not to be a party pooper but I don't like V-day I feel it is very over-rated and forced I feel romance and love and all that should be an everyday thing not just on V-day

With that said My husband and kids gave me cards My husbands card was so sweet it was like he wrote into Hallmark himself because it sounded just like him and he also wrote some very special things in it- We spent the rest of the day cleaning house and hitting the gym and just relaxing

My honey knows me his exact words were Flowers die, Bears end up in the closet, and your not going to eat chocolate and I knew you would appreciate a card- It was very sweet.

I don't celebrate it either. Never have - single, dating, now married! It's not that I have a bad marriage, or that myself or my husband is thoughtless. I guess I'd rather get flowers or a little gift randomly than on the same day with the rest of the world. That's just me.

  • read some comic books, fiddled around online, watched a few episodes of Without a Trace, watched the movie RocknRolla... uneventful, quiet, :indifferent:

Great! We invited a younger man to "stay over".... actually, our 15 month old grandson stayed with us while "mama and dada" had a nice overnight, spa, dinner, etc...

Since our anniversary is in 2 weeks, we decided to combine the two occasions then. A romantic hotel, dinner, drinks, and perhaps a nightcap?
