Problems with 30 Day Shred

Maybe I should have given it more time. I started the 30 Day Shred in July and did it every other day. I was so sore the first three days so I decided not to overdo myself. Well I started to feel extremealy bulky and my clothes were not fitting two weeks into the DVD. I decided not to use the 2 lbs weights, but I don't think the 2 lbs weights were the problem. I also gained three pounds which I know were probably muscle weight, but that seems like alot of muscle weight for two weeks. Wondering if I should try again from the beginning and stick it out the 30 days. I tend to try things and if I don't see improvements right away or see something go wrong (clothes not fitting) I tend to give up. Thoughts?

I do the same thing--try something, but quit when I don't get the results I think I should. I have done up through day 4 on the 30DS, and I want to see it through to the end--no matter what! I say do the whole program!!0

sorry but the weight you gained will be water weight that your muscles are holding onto from doing something different. it is impossible to gain 3 lbs of muscle weight doing 30 day shred especially using only 2 lb weights. It's a myth that you can build muscle mass so quicly. start the 30DS again, drink at least half a gallon of water a day, maybe even more, cut your sodium completely, and by the end of 30 days you'll see you'll have lost the water.0

I did it for 26 days with 5lb weight. it pretty much ripped my shoulders and arms. The scale wasnt moving as much as i hoped so i quit early. i lost 3.5 but my body afterwards looked like i lost 10 or so lbs. I will do it again it is a great workout. I have tried about 5 different workouts but i really dont want to commit to one since i spent so much time on the Shred. It got boring quick. I only did the 30 day shred and i logged it in as circuit training so i may have been eating back too much calories but all in all it was good.0

I did not lose a pound doing it (I am small to begin with but would have liked to lose at least 5 lbs) but my body changed a lot. Drink more water and make sure you are not overeating. When I first started it, I was starving all the time so I had to be careful. Also, take measurements instead of watching the scale!0

Yes Carrie I was starving all the time too the first time I did it! I was eating all the time, mostly protein, so maybe I was overeating too.0
