What have you found to be the best way to track your keto diet on My Fitness Pal Premium?

Under "goals" I have entered 5% carbs, 75% fat and 20% protein. I filled in 1500 for calories but I don't really pay as much attention to that. I try to enter what I think I'm going to eat for a meal, then multiply my fat grams by 9 and divide by total calories to see if I'm basically on track or if I need to add fat, decrease protein, etc.
I do tend to count net carbs but I know some people prefer to keep total carbs under 20.

I follow the Ketogenic Lifestyle as well. Note, please, that I use the word "lifestyle" instead of "diet". This is not a diet....for me, anyway.

I do the same thing that @Emw148 does - although, to be honest, I do not really track my food or exercise in MFP (I know...I know...I said that I was going to do so and it was honestly 100% my intention when I made that statement...I just can't. Not really a fan of MFP....just being honest. But, I am 'off' and have a very specific way of doing things....MFP just not do it for me....it is VERY HELPFUL for a lot of people and I strongly encourage people to find something that works for them and to use the hell out of it....).

Now, those percentages are the Classic Keto way and can be quite challenging to follow. Very general comment.

How long have you been following Keto?

How much research into the Ketogenic Diet have you made?

I ask those two questions because - for me (I have high A1C so there is a very legit reason for me to follow this specific "diet") I find that there are a lot of people who just (pardon the phrase) jump on this bandwagon or that bandwagon and suffer unnecessarily from the - give me some latitude with the next word - drawbacks of said diet.

With Keto there is the so-called Ketogenic Flu (lack of Electrolytes - sodium, potassium, and magnesium) which is super easy to mitigate or to avoid completely (as I did). For those who do not know anything about that when it hits them they fold (and that is totally understandable) and quit....I do not want that to happen to anyone. Again, the Keto Flu is like - from what I understand - being dope sick. Not a pleasant thing at all and not something that I would wish on my worst enemy....

I used this calculator to find my macros when I started my journey in January. I chose to go 5% carbs, 70% fat and 25% protein. I then entered the information into MFP goals. Just remember to go back to this calculator and redo it every now and then as you lose weight. I am not sure how much weight you have to lose. My goal was to lose 90 pounds. I go back to the calculator every 10 to 15 pounds. Hope this helps.
