I found a thing on Pinterest where you mark the gallon jug hourly so you make sure you’re portioning it out equally! It’s worked for me so far!!!1

@eminator, A gallon of water every day truly is not necessary. It can deplete you of essential electrolytes. Drinking that much water is valuable for rehydration if you have been dehydrated for a while, or for flushing excess water from your system. If you feel hungry between meals, drinking water will fill you up. Your body shows you if you need more water through your urine color. Pale yellow, hydrated, clear, too much hydration, anything from dark yellow to brown, get out the gallon bottle! If you take B vitamins, your urine will be yellow, but an artificial looking yellow. When I was younger, everyone followed, drink half your body weight in water to assist weightloss. That could be too much also.
Learn your thirst cues. If you feel thirsty, don't ignore it. Notice urine color, your skin, is it dry? Bodyaches, your kidneys. If they have a feeling of achiness, drink more water. All fluids count, as long as they are mostly water and not full of milk, sugar, etc. Black coffee, green tea. Pure water is essential. No more than 16 ozs/470 ml an hour.1 -

Ever since I started working out I’ve tried to drink Atleast 1/2 to a full gallon of water because I sweat a good bit in the gym, plus the sauna. So I make sure I am very hydrated!1
