Getting Started

Hello! I've gotten fed up with myself and would like to change some habits. Im knowledgeable with what foods to eat, and how to eat. What I struggle with is motivation. If anyone has any encouraging or motivation inducing advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm not too sure how these things go, so I'm just asking the community for some advice! Thanks to all!

Relying on your fickle friend motivation, combined with lots of arbitrary food restrictions, is a recipe for disaster.
A healthy diet is balanced and varied, so you can eat whatever you like. You just can't eat too much over time.0 -
Per Master Yoda: "There is no try. Only do or do not."
I no longer try to lose 5lbs, I will lose 5lbs. It may take a month, it may take a year, but I will do it. I will not try to run a 5k, I will train until I can.
My personal favorite quote: "Do something today that your future self will thank you for"
When in a rut, I think about what I could have done yesterday that would make me feel better today - I do that.
The most common sense thing anyone has ever said to me that triggered my AH-HA moment: "How do you expect to change, if you don't change?"
Well, no *kitten*!!! Doing the same thing over and over again, yet expecting a different result is nuts. I had to change my lifestyle, then I finally got the results I wanted.0
