I know I should be drinking more water than I do (3-5 cups a day is where I'm at), but I'm finding it difficult to drink more than that.
Help?

    1. Grab cup
    2. Add Water
    3. Drink :)

Lol, no... try going and buying those little flavor packets that are like 5 calories to give it a little flavor. This helps me get those last few cups in and if you have a dollar store around you, that's where I get mine. 6 for $1 and there are lots of choices, and they are good!

I have a 24 oz (three 8 oz cups of water) tervis tumbler that I carry around every where. I try and drink 2 of those before lunch, then I have a diet caffeine free soda for lunch, then two tervis cups after lunch and then another diet caffeine free soda for dinner.

By dinner I've had twelve 8 oz cups of water and whatever water I have after dinner is just groovy. Just get into the habit of drinking it between meals and you'll get there in no time.

The best thing I found to do when I was having a hard time drinking water was to add some stevia, which is a natural sweetener, NO Chemicals and some lemon juice...Worked like a charm....I carry a 1-gallon water jug around with me all day, and if it is not empty by bedtime, I finish it off..... :flowerforyou:

    Why?

You can tell if you're dehydrated and need more water by looking at your pee! if its pale you're fine.

Having said that - a tip from my friend is to drink a glass of water before everything you eat, whether its a full meal or just a snack. It helps fill you up and sometimes it's all you need to stave of the pangs.
  • A friend of mine once had a funny solution to getting her daily water. She carried around this huge jug with her literally everywhere she went (I mean HUGE), and her motivation for drinking from it was to simply make it lighter to carry.

    Or so she said.

I still think she was kind of crazy. Water is heavy!

I love adding lemon juice to mine, or half of a Benefiber cherry-pomegranate packet (10 cals) to give it some flavor when I'm tired of the same ol' plain water. Also, always drink it ice cold. Infinitely better than drinking it room temperature.
  • Thanks guys. :)

You can also try having decaf tea as part of your water intake if you're having a tough time getting enough plain water in. Herbal teas are yummy!

I've recently given up diet drinks and all other beverages that include aspartame and Sucralose. I'm a southern girl so sweet iced tea is a no-no unless I decide to drink it sweetened with real sugar. That said, I've been loving Bigelow Herbal Tea, particularly the Peach flavor. I fill up a 24 ounce insulated cup (with a screw on top and straw) with water and a ice and a one tea bag. No sugar or other sweetener is needed!!! This is caffeine free and zero sugar so it can count as a water.
