I’m looking for some friends to connect with who are on a low carb/keto way of eating. People who are pretty regular at logging in , may talk recipes or whatever works for us and such. Just need s bit of support.
Also a bonus if you have more than 100# to lose like me.

Please add me in. I just started eating low carb and keto so I am in the very early stages of learning how to be successful on this type of diet. My spouse was told by his doctor to start eating a low carb diet and I am hoping he will have more success if I move to this type of diet, too. 21 g of carbs so far today and I am beginning to get the hang of this style of eating. Still having sugar cravings, but I read that this should lessen moving forward. Inspired to see how much weight you have already lost--I have 20 lbs. left to lose after taking off 10 lbs. with MFP since January.

Hi, Please add me in. My doctor recommended the Keto diet as, based on blood work, she suspects “metabolic syndrome” and apparently I have a gene (?) that pre-disposes me to diabetes and Alzheimer’s (!!!!), so...Keto...
I’m 5 days in, haven’t eaten “sugar’ (for me, a miracle) but haven’t invested in a blood ketone/glucose monitor...do you all check your ketones with urine strips?? I may not be in ketosis yet, tho’ I have been following a 10% carb/ 20 % protein/ 70% fat diet for the 5 days, with not too much difficulty, but no idea how I’ll do long-term...will probably be buying the strips at least...wish me luck!
Do any of you know whether MyFitnessPal tracks “total carbs” or “net carbs”? I’m suspecting that it’s total, and if so, can I just use the “Nutrient” table to subtract my fiber intake from the carbs??

I was following a different way of eating and have had a good start but the last 30lb is being difficult so just started low carb this week0 -
I don’t use the ketone sticks. I did a long time ago. But know I’m just used to getting my carbs and fiber kinds at a certain level where I keep losing. You have to find what works for you. And on days when my fiber was pretty low And carbs a bit higher, the next day I’ll really try to up the fat. Add cream to things, eat a whole avocado, use more butter when cooking. It helps when you’ve slipped up and eaten higher in carbs. It’s all a balance. But for some people, the sticks are what help them keep on track. For me it’s charting daily, meal prepping and weighing daily. The scale tells me when I haven’t drinking much water or I’ve had too much salt in my day. I trust it.
MFP does show you your carbs and fiber so I just simply subtract in my head, so I have an idea of where I’m at. It doesn’t have to be fancy.
I don’t know if you knew but when charting food, it shows you your meals nutrients (carbs, fiber etc) but if you turn your phone sideways you can scroll to the bottom and see your totals for the day. Does that make sense? I usually only chart on the phone. Computer shows everything all at once.

Hello! Yes of course I’ll add you. First day huh? My advice? Tons of water, lots of fat. It will help you get thru the low carb keto flu that hits days 3-5. When you feel like crap. Water helps it go quicker, fat helps you feel full longer, less likely to cheat. You got this!Katies9484 wrote: »Add me please! You got this. As I told Katie, fat and water are your best friends the first week especially. For recipes and such I tend to use Pinterest s lot. But when in doubt, eat meat, cheese and salads. Easiest start. Avocados have tons of good fat. Carbs and fiber almost even each other out.

I think low carb will really help you melt off the last several lbs. the only 2 things I’ve found that worked for me were low carb and juicing. But I couldn’t stick with juicing for more than a month. I needed cooked foods, crunchy things! So back to low carb I came.
To add a friend you click on their name. Then click on the name again. Then you should see in the right corner, a little blue body guy with a plus sign. Click that and you come to a message request form. Just send a note to the person and it is a friend request. Easy peasy.

Hi Please count me in. Just learning about keto, and intermittent fasting. I started in April. Went oot end of April and blew it.
I have been slowing preparing to restart. Had carbs,( I won't name them, so as not to trigger anyone's craving) paid attention to how my hunger increase just by adding them back. Did some talking to myself to help me feel motivated. Stop puting it off, just because it wasn't sunday didn't mean I had to wait another week!
Restarted yesterday. Need to lose 50 lbs. motivation and support will be so helpful.1 -

Hi guys, I would like to lose 13 pounds and have been trying for almost 2 years but just can’t shift it! So thinking of giving Keto a go but just trying to figure out how it works!
