Holy smokes! I'll do the wood chops if you promise me my body will look like that girl's in the video when I'm done! LOL
Sonia, I'll send you my weigh-in ASAP tomorrow morning! Thanks!0 -
Unless I'm getting a different link, I'm not understanding the wood chop one. The U-Tube video has someone using cables at the gym. If you just google "wood chop exercise" you get completely different exercises (one is a squat then raising one dumbbell straight up over your head) and another is a one-side pull down, again with a machine and cable.
Help!!0 -

Hmmm...I'm not sure. The link it took me to was a lady named Zuzana using a dumbell. :ohwell:0 -
Thanks, found it. She was doing a lot of heavy breathing, lol!0
-
I'm done with day 1 challenge. The squat kicks are just...0

I hate the woman in the woodchop video!!!0

PS just seen that the team challenge is ab crunches. Now under my rolls of flab i have really stong abs and could easily do 200 a day for us.0
-
Good luck this week!!! We can do this!0
-
I will pay CookieGem to do my ab crunches.0
-
We can do this ladies!!! My goal is to do at least 100 a day for the challenge! I'm also going to push myself to do more than that for my own exercise purposes, but we'll see what 100 looks like when I get there.
This week is going to be FANTASTIC!! I kinda wish I would look like that woman doing the woodchops when I'm done, however realism is more my thing, so I know it'll be a while before I get there.
Let's rock this week ladies!!
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline. - 2 Timothy 1:70 -
I will pay CookieGem to do my ab crunches.
OOOH how much?0 -

MORNING LADIES!!!!
So far we only have 192 points for week 2... We are missing 4 weigh ins, 3 recipes, and 12 days of exercises... IF the recipes and exercises come in we will get the bonus 10 points... IF not... well....
At our mid-challenge mark we have had at total loss(without the 4 missing weigh ins) of 25.3 pounds for the team!
We did 138.8 miles for the challenge!!! (plus any extra that have not been logged yet)
This morning is our Monday exercise challenge...
Monday Challenge for Week 3: Day 1 Exercise Challenge - 50 Squat Kicks* and 3 sets of 12 Wood chops ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSu-wci9uTo ) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkhATg1-b9g&feature=relmfu )
We have already had one of our team mates complete DAY ONE!!!!!! TY psychofied!!!
I need you all to commit to a # of crunches.... I was gonna commit to 250, but... I am gonna go for 500 (this is NOT my strong suit but... I am willing to DO this for myself and the TEAM!) We need an average of 200 a team member... as we have had some team members not log for a while, we REALLY need those that are committed to...COMMIT!!!
Have a blessed day!!!

Is your scale reporting higher numbers this week. Don't you dare be discouraged. I know its rough,
I know it can be discouraging but I'd like to ask you to look at two weeks ago. Are you doing more than
you were then? Are you stronger now then you were then? Are you still committed to see this thing
through til the end? I believe you are answering a resounding YES! To all of those. I entitled this week
RISE OF THE MACHINES! I knew several of you would see little to no weight loss. But look at how far
you've come. Its time to rise from last week and show off your machine like bodies. They are stronger, faster
and able to last longer. Burpees were a challenge, this week they will be just another exercise! Each team
was able to go an extra 100 miles! This week your teams will do an additional 4000 crunches! And you are
feeling down.......Please.......YOU ARE MACHINES! RISE UP AND CONQUER YOUR PAST WEEK....its just
that, PAST! This week is your week, take ownership and push like you've never pushed before! I'm so proud
of you and all you have accomplished! You are MACHINES!0 -

Totally true.. it is not about weight as much as it is about losing fat and gaining muscle!.. so the scales are deceiving ...
Keep up the awesome work team PD we are all doing so great0 -
TEAM... I have a serious question to ask several of you, this will require thought and a bit of soul searching...
We have 1-2 team members who have not posted in any consistent way for a while. There were extenuating circumstances for a short time but LITTLE to NO contact since (while posting on MFP forums and status updates in such a way as to show that the circumstances are no longer affecting them).
I am entirely FOR supporting each other through "thick" and "thin" , but I am wondering as to these apparent commitment issues.
Today is my final attempt to reach out to these people as far as the team goes... (I will continue to support them personally as fellow strugglers in this battle to be fit!) If they want to continue, I ask them to please reach out as well...
PLEASE let me be perfectly clear!!! I am NOT asking anyone to quit!!! :noway: I want ALL of us to finish this together!!! But if you have no intention of supporting, participating, being Persistent or exhibiting Determination... well... let us know....
On a happy note!!!!
Please warmly welcome ang16, she will be filling our one current open spot for the second half of our challenge!
With Friendship and Warmth from Missouri!
:flowerforyou: Sonia
BTW, I need to know how many crunches YOU are committing to!!!0 -
I will commit to 100 crunches a day, so 600 for the week. This will most definitely train me for bootcamp.0
-
I will commit to 500 additional crunches this week for the challenge.0
-
I will do 100 a day... 6 days this week for a total of 600!0
-
Put me down for 100 crunches a day0
-
I feel like a slacker :frown: because I can only commit to 200 toward the team goal. BUT, I will squeeze in extra wherever I can - I work 7:00-4:30 Mon-Fri; however, I start my college classes this week and one class is from 11:00-12:15 and my PE is from 6:00-9:00pm EST, both on Tuesday & Thursday; thefore, I will be stuck in the office until 5:30 these 2 days and going straight to school so I'm not sure I will be able to do the daily exercises much less the ab crunches.
Sonia ~ I do have a question about the daily exercises - can I do the ones for Tuesday/Thursday on other days of the week if I need to? if not, I will try my best to get them done on the days I need to, but it will make it a bit easier if I can do them on other days0 -
Absolutely you can rearrange, just let me know as you get them done!!!
200 is fine! Basically I am asking for what YOU can COMMIT to... 200 is perfectly acceptable!
Have fun with school!!!
~Sonia0 -
Holy smokes! I'll do the wood chops if you promise me my body will look like that girl's in the video when I'm done! LOL
I AGREE!!
I am committing to 600 crunches for the team. :flowerforyou:
Done with today's challenges plus 200 crunches. I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!!
Shanna
Sonia - did I have any empty spots on the chart that I need to get to you? I can't see the chart from my computer :sad:0 -
@ K1Teacher ~ you are good to go from last week!0

Team Persistent Determination....
At this point I HAVE to turn in our points... with the data turned in thus far... our total ended up being 190 points.
Our total loss for the week logs at 9.8 pounds, a 3.7% loss.
Our total miles logged for the 100 mile team challenge were 142.3 miles!
We have 17 recipes, which I will compile and make available to all the team.
16 people did every day's exercise challenge!
Our biggest loser for the week is.... megansmom311 with 2.3% followed closely by kmcginley613 with 2.1%!
The leader for our team in weight loss at the half way point is... megansom311 with 4.1%!
In the last 2 weeks, our team has lost 22.3 pounds, a loss of 11.4%!!!
We had 9 loses:bigsmile: , 3 stay the same:indifferent: , 6 minimal gains:grumble: , and 2 non-reports:sad: .
Gary has put out some info on the September challenge... If you are wanting to stay on this particular team, please message me... The limit is 10 total people including the team captain... I am looking for people who are dedicated... I do know that BCFossett is also going to be Captaining a team... message her if you are interested in continuing on with her... I know she is also looking for people who are dedicated! I will miss her whole big bunches, she is awesome!!!:flowerforyou:
We are adding ang16 to the challenge and losing vcorish to an injury, hopefully she will stick around and encourage the team until she is back on her feet! (please encourage both of these women!)
Hope everyone had a good a weekend!!!
~Sonia0 -
I will commit to 600 extra crunches this week. Still working my way through day one.
Chris0 -
Hi everyone
So I will commit to 600. @Sonia - I am gyming tomorrow so I will do todays challenge and tomorrow before I go to the gym. Had a hectic hair cut followed by squash lesson tonight so a bit tight for time.
Am I missing anything for your chart??0 -
Welcome Ang0
-
Gemma, you are fine for last week!
The people who I need info from have been sent messages.
Chris, I am still working through the squat kicks (or as I like to "affectionately" call them, sumo squats!!!)
I got on the treadmill this morning and did over 5 miles, the stupid treadmill reset after it hit EXACTLY 5!!! grrrrr...:grumble:
gotta go get ready for scouts tonight, we have a committee meeting and we are doing 2 or 3 board of reviews for their next rank! (Don't particularly like doing the meeting but LOVE the boards because the boys have worked so hard and are excited!) This will be my last scout meeting for a long time since college starts next week and I have a full load on Monday night! Gotta go talk to the adviser to get the rest of my schedule straightened out!!!!:indifferent:
Boys start school Wednesday, I am not scheduled to substitute til the first week of September... or they call, whichever comes first!!!!
Shower, uniform, cook, change out laundry, eat, run to scouts!
Will check back a little later!
