This is my second day on the keto diet and I'm struggling. Today after breakfast I'm already over my carbs and protein limits for the day, leaving over 900 calories just for fat.

Please give me some words of wisdom on 1. How to balance my meals out? and 2. How do i quit thinking carbs are healthy and fat is bad? I'm so used to eating veggies and thinking they are good for me. 3. Any other tips you would like to share that might help me transition from a high carb diet to this low carb keto way of life?

Why do Keto if it's so hard? Carbs aren't bad, veggies are definitely good. Why not just cut down on the processed carbs instead? If you want to go full Keto, eventually, maybe you could work your way towards it, instead of jumping in the deep end? Or you could see how it goes if you maybe cut back on bread, pasta, and baked goods - but don't limit the veggies so much?

The first thing to remember is fat is healthy and isn’t bad. And carbs aren’t bad either.

If you really want to give keto a proper go the best thing to do is plan and prepare, or maybe reduce your carb intake gradually to get to keto levels.

There are some very helpful keto - low carb groups on MFP you should ask these questions of. If you go into the groups and search keto it should pull them up.

    Good luck OP.

    1. Focus on logging and hitting your calorie goal for right now. Once you have that down, you can figure out how to balance everything.
    2. No individual macro is healthy or unhealthy barring medical reasons...it's about your overall diet. If you want to do keto go for it, but it isn't necessary for weight loss.
