Hello, I am a 36 year old father of two, currently about 30lbs overweight. I've been pretty sedentary the last 2 years and I'm taking the necessary steps to change that. I am eight days into Muay thai and I'm loving it. Also I just started counting calories and I I'm amazed at how easy it is, should have started years ago. Anyway I'm new to all this so any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Welcome! It sounds like you are well on your way. That's great you've found an activity you enjoy and you're counting calories. Perhaps consider using a food scale if you aren't already.
Keep doing what you are doing and try to stay consistent. Good luck!1
