so... i have been using this app for like 4 year or so now? I've created many different accounts, started from scratch, and yeh sometimes i lost the weight and came back when it came back, and sometimes because i got discouraged. truth is the only time i have ever successfully lost weight is when I obsessively counted EVERYTHING and that wasn't healthy and now im trying to find a better way, loosely counting but it is hard because you misjudge things don't lose weight get disheartened, gain everything back if not more, i was 10,5 stone once now im about 14 stone the heaviest ive ever been, and i need to learn to get healthy again but it is hard, i use food as a coping mechanism for my stress and depression and healthy food tends to be more expensive but i owe it to myself to try even if i fail a gazillion times i need to try because one day it may stick... anyway i always do better when i have a social group to help cheer me on and i can do the same so, if you want to add me and see how i get on feel free to im starting fresh even if its not a monday XD

    Welcome back!

Have you considered a middle of the road approach for logging - counting/weighing the most calorie dense things? Like meat, oils, starches, treats?

Healthy foods aren't more expensive - expensive foods are more expensive and it's easy to be fooled into thinking that you need special foods to eat healthily - but healthy food tends to not provide the instant gratification that junk food gives. This makes healthy food a poor comfort, but if you want to stop comforting yourself with food, it's actually a good idea to let wholesome, ordinary foods be your most accessible food choices.

I too have found the best success managing my weight when I exhaustively and accurately weigh/measure/count/log everything. I'm curious as to why you don't consider this healthy.

i just find that if you want to eat like stuff like fresh vegetables etc they do tend to cost more but they tend to have less junk in them specially if you get them from your local market but they also cost you more

You have to inform yourself and use common sense. Do you look around for the best price of each item? Do you buy a lot of luxury items like asparagus, baby carrots and precut lettuce? Or things like onions, ordinary carrots, cabbage? And frozen and canned vegetables? What junk exactly? Are you eating it up, or does a lot get thrown out because it spoils? And are you trying to fill your calorie goal with vegetables?

Sorry to hear this journey has been a struggle for you so it or was for many of us. We are all here to get & stay fit. Please don’t give up if you have one bad day. You say you “eat when you’re stress” try reverse psychology go for a long walk, join exercise classes such as running groups, Zumba, spin class, strength and conditioning make it a lifestyle. If you were living a healthy active life and felt to eat a whole pizza one Saturday evening you could. If do a lot of intense workouts and your metabolism is high the carbs would turn into sugar in which your body wouldn’t store for fat but put it to use as energy. Clean out your cupboards of the junk only drink WATER eat whole food if you can’t cook learn from YouTube videos. Don’t let your mind sabotage your health always tell yourself you will do better and will be fit and healthy and put that to action
