Hey! I have used MFP in the past, but never really did much with the community portion of the website. I was only using the calorie tracker. I need the motivation that this board can bring now. About 5 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life. Eating pretty healthy, but working out a ton. I loved it. However, as I have gotten busier with work and family, I pretty much completely stopped any kind of exercise and was eating to self-soothe and deal with anxiety and depression issues. I am now, at 34 years old, at the highest weight I have ever been, and unfortunately the least active I have ever been.

Over the last 6 months I have been making small changes to better my overall health. I'm usually a jump in head-first person, and that has been my downfall every time - pushing too hard without a well-established plan. I burn out. Now, I am ready to really get this done. I have cleaned up my eating quite a bit, and worked on curbing a lot of the cravings that I was dealing with.

My goal is to lose about 65 lbs. I am tracking and went for the first time this morning to a workout class at the gym (BodyPump at the YMCA). I will be hurting fora few days, but I'm excited to get on the right track. Any encouragement, or words of wisdom would be appreciated!

You've got this! It sounds like you're already taking the right steps. It sounds like you've already established that turning your lifestyle upside down right away is not easy. The small changes matter, so as long as you focus on one thing at a time, you'll be able to comfortably get yourself back on track.

One thing that really helped me was to track each new low weigh-in. Anytime I got frustrated about weight loss stalling, I would always look at the graph and realize it had never stalled for more than 2-3 weeks before falling again. I pushed through 2-3 long plateaus like this. The fun thing was that after a long plateaus, I would suddenly drop 5 lb and never see it come back
