1200 calories/day food ideas

Anyone that is on 1200 cal/day - I am interested to hear what you eat for the day....I am in need of some variety!

    La Choy Pepper beef...(entire can!)....300 calories
    Dry cereal for a snack (one cup) about ...120 calories
    Fiber One Oat's and Caramel bar (almost like a candy bar!)...140 calories
    Lowfat yogurt...100 calories
    Lean Pockets, Pizza Supreme...220 calories
    There are lots of things out there to eat that aren't terribly high in calories. You do need variety to be sucessful, just smaller portions, and if you still aren't staying within your allotment, you can always exercise and eat the extra calories! Good luck to all!:drinker:

    Here are a few of my personal favorites.

    Asian Chicken Salad
    I use a coleslaw mix because its easy. Sliced chicken , and pine nuts or other type of nut you like. I personally like Annies Asian Sesame dressing. Its approximately 175 calories.

    Vegetarian taco Salad.
    I take rice, lentil beans, salad, salsa, and if you like a bit of sour cream or guacomole and cheese. Its about 350 calories. Very filling for dinner or lunch.

  • Breakfast: 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal - 1/4 cup skim milk - 1/4 c. frozen blueberries

    Snack: apple or orange

    Lunch: 1/2 cup quinoa - 1/2 cup brocolli - 1 oz. reduced fat cheddar cheese - 1/3 cup fresh salsa

    Snack: Either string cheese - apple or orange - roasted soybeans

    Supper: 1/2 cup lentils or black beans - 1/2 avocado - lettuce - salsa

    Just an average day - I mix it up..but this is pretty much a typical day.

    I'm on the 1200 cal diet, and my food varies day to day based on how much time I have to prepare. Here are some things I ate this past week.

    for dinner:
    Turkey Tacos
    4 oz. lean ground turkey
    Taco seasoning
    Yellow corn tortilla-supersize
    Lettuce
    Tomato
    Reduced fat mexican cheese blend
    with a side of black beans (1/2 c.)

    and sometimes for breakfast I have

    1/2 c. egg beaters
    1 c. diced mushrooms
    1 c. spinach
    1/2 c. pepperoncini

    or

    blended
    1 c. skim milk
    1/2 frozen banana
    1 packet splenda


    and for a snack sometimes I dice apples and sprinkle them with cinnamon

    That's about all I can think of right now, hope it helps.
