Net Carbs/ Keto diet
Hi
I was wondering if this app shows the Net carbs or total carbs ?
I am doing the ketogenic diet and I have to make sure I am eating between 25_30 grams of carbs daily, i am using only keto friendly stuff but my daily allowance
finishes so fast, so I starg thinking maybe this app doesn't take away fiber from carbs ?

Usually the carbs shown are total carbs. For Keto you may be better off using a different tracking app like cronometer, which has a net carb option 😁1

My advice is to stop with the newest woo diet fad, eat your carbs and just use the app to track calories paying particular attention to getting enough fiber per day. Carbs aren't the enemy, excess calories are.3

I don't believe this is a fad. This has been around for quite some time. There is also a Ketogenice diabetic diet. This is a great WOE for certain individuals. I don't consider this a diet at all. Keto is a lifestyle change. I have completely changed my way of eating. My bloodwork has never been better than it is now. I've lost weight the correct way, no diet pills, no going without eating, never being hungry, being disciplined, ensuring to eat the correct foods because if I don't, I swell up like a balloon. And yes, bad carbs can be an enemy. I found that out when once I switched to Keto. Some people can process them correctly and some can't. Bad carbs turn to sugar, sugar spikes insulin levels, high insulin levels makes your body store fat. Point of my rant, each person is different and I think it is detrimental to tell someone to not do "a woo diet fad" when you don't even how well it works for others and the benefits that can come from it. Is it for everyone? Nope. Is Atkins? Nope. Weight Watchers? Nope. BUT, do those work for others....YES.3 -
keto as a popular "omg you GOTS to do keto to lose weight" is a fad
i remember maybe 3 years ago - one of the enlisted members in my navy reserve unit was doing Keto and she had weekly check-ins with a specialized team of personnel at a medical health center monitoring her...compared to now when anyone and their mother can do it with no supervision0 -
MFP does not have a feature to track net carbs. I don't think the paid subscribers have it either. Just subtract your fiber from total carbs and call it good.0
