Hi Everyone.
When I work out, 2 - 3 hours later I find that I'm starving, even though I eat a meal within an hour after working out.
Is this normal?
Second question:
Are beans considered a fat or a protein?
Thanks!

I think the answer to the first question depends on what and how much you ate in the hour after the workout. If it was a light meal, then feeling hungry 2 hours later sounds pretty normal.
Beans are very low fat so they would be considered a protein and a carb, because they are high in both.0 -
I eat about two hours after my work out but I'm hungry after the 1st hour. It's just because I'm travelling to work that I don't eat sooner. Try eating something that's slow releasing like oats or something. That way you can curb the appetite.
Beans are a protein.0 -
Hi
From a nutritional point of view, it is generally recommended to eat 30-60min post-workout as this is the time when your body will absorb more nutrients to start repairing and preparing itself for the next workout. The best post-workout meal is a mix of High GI and high protein food e.g, a high protein milkshake made with milk, white bread toast and baked beans etc... Post workout is the only time when high GI are foods are recommended to aid recovery. I'm willing to give any advice/support I can. You can friend request me.
If you eat within an hour and the meal is high GI and you get hungry 2-3 hrs later...it may be your body's way telling you that you need more nutrients for recovery and it should be regarded as normal. Are you worried that you'll overeat?
Beans are definitely are classed as a protein food, although also high in carbohydrate.

This morning, I did Turbo Fire 30 (very high impact cardio).
45 minutes later, I had a cup of cooked oatmeal (not instant) with flax, pecans and blueberries.
3 scrambled egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled.
2 cups water.
1 Vitamin, 1 bee pollen capsule, 1 Claritin (heh, allergies kicking in).
That was at 5 am.
By 8 am, I was ravenous.
I'm not too worried about over eating, I'm just wondering if I'm the only person who gets this hungry.
I'm thinking that I really must be burning some serious calories - a little over 400.0
