Anyone ever been to one? I am debating making an appointment to see one. I have been staying with in my range of calories, but I'm not seeing weight loss on the scale. I am finishing up on my first go around with Jillian Michaels' 30DS and I'm seeing my measurements go down. That's encouraging. But I feel hungry with the 1200 cals a day that MFP recommends and if I go elsewhere to get a good caloric intake they tell me 1600 a day! Um .. there's no way I can eat 1600 a day! Soooooo I was thinking about seeing a RD to get good, reliable information on weight loss.
All that said ... who has been to one?
And most importantly ... has it helped?
What should I expect from a meeting with one?
Thanks in advance for your information.

Go for it =] my best friend is going to college to be one and she's in her last year, she's been so helpful with my weight loss. Generally speaking 1200 calories is too little for anyone.0

Are you eating back your exercise calories? Do you use a food scale or measuring cups to measure serving sizes? Both of those really helped me! I have worked dietitians, as my husband has diabetes, and they do give you a wonderful understanding of healthy food choices!0

1600 calories is probably right. Your BMR is probably around 1300-1500 so you are most likely eating under your BMR which isn't good.0

I'm pretty short too -> 5' 3". You can see my weight in my signature. But bump them all up by 2 pounds because I got a new scale and it's 2 pounds higher than my 10 yr old scale. My BMI is high too at 30! ACK! I had gotten down to around 140 about 10 yrs ago and could not get any lower. My husband is super supportive about my weight loss adventure too. He has suggested I go to Medifast. But I want to eat real food, you know? I don't want food out of a box and have to drink shakes and eat differently than the rest of my family. I have to kids too. So, I'd like to prepare healthy foods for ALL of us, you know? I'm just thinking that going to a RD would be wonderful since they could customize things for me. Especially since I'm not sure I could ever go below 140.0
