I’m stuck!

I’ve been doing this for 2 weeks now and I’m stuck on losing weight. I was doing great the first week but after that I would go up 2 pounds then down 3 then up 3 then down 2. I am having a hard time getting past the lost 10lb number because my weight is fluctuating so much. In need of help and advice!

Relax! Weight naturally fluctuates by 2-3 pounds, regardless if you're losing, gaining or maintaining weight. When you reduce food intake, you normally reduce carb intake, and carbs bind water, and water has weight. If you're constipated, the contents in your intestines will weigh more than usual. You can't expect to lose as much fat in a week (or even 2) as you can go up and down in weight in the same time frame. Fat is lost slowly and steadily in small changes in one direction, if you do it right; water weight fluctuations are abrupt and large and up and down.
If you're in a true calorie deficit, and reassurance is all you need to just keep on doing what you're doing, you're doing splendidly. If you aren't losing weight, you need to check your food logging routines. But in order to not rock the boat unnecessarily, for now, just keep at it, and keep monitoring your weight. Come back in a couple of weeks if you're not seeing a drop.5 -
I really needed this. Thank you!1

Great advice above.
also ensure to weight yourself at the same time of day when comparing. As mentioned there can be 2-4pd variance between morning and night.2 -
Great advice indeed!
If you do choose to weigh daily - and I do, as it sounds like you do - I would suggest that you record daily too. If you check-in your weight daily here, and you are in a deficit, your graph will eventually look something like this:
Notice all those zigzags, this is 100% normal and all that matters is the zigzag heads in the right direction! People differ widely in what they consider more motivating, but for me weighing daily and looking at the big picture (whether this way or with a trending app) helped me understand what was up and trust the process.1 -
Great! I weigh myself every morning before I eat.0

When I first started a few weeks into it I hovered around the same weight, up a pound, down a pound for two weeks, and then started dropping again. Don't worry, you are doing great and best of luck as you continue.
Do you own any stocks? Think of it like the stock market, there are up days and down days but you have to look at the long term results.0 -
