Total or net calories?

Hi my calorie target is 1220 - I’m 5’2 and weigh 163lbs with a sedentary job but run 3-4 times a week. My total calories this week averaged 1550 and my net calories 1176 so is this on the right track? I take it it’s net calories that I should be tracking at 1220?

Yep, you've got it right (assuming you are confident of the accuracy of your food intake and exercise calories). Are you losing at the expected rate?

I lost 1 pound this week but that’s off the back of a 5lb loss last week so am happy with that but just wanted to check I was tracking the right calorie measurement as I try and even out highs/lows across the week rather than get hung up on daily targets. 🙂

Your personal average weight loss average matters more than anything else, once you have enough data to evaluate it (4-6 weeks on the regimen). 1% of bodyweight weekly is fine IMO until you get to around 25-50 pound above goal, when you might want to slow it a bit more.

    Best wishes!

Pick one option and stick with it, consistency is key. Some people track bcaas and lose weight and some don’t and lose weight (an example). Minute things like that you keep consistent

Yes, that looks about right. Yes, you want to stick to your Net Calories limit.

That's assuming you're logging accurately. If you keep losing 1 lb a week, you're doing it right.

Make sure you change your weekly weight loss goal to 0.5 lb a week when you get to only needing to lose 15 lb or less.
