So I am not really new. I started Myfitness pal in April. But have never posted. I was doing so well and was losing 2 lbs a week. I was down 23 lbs and then this weekend, I gained 8 lbs. I cried like a baby. I don't know how it is possible to gain that much. I didn't eat a whole lot but I did have 6 Mott's Ceasars. It does not make sense to me. I am so frustrated I almost gave up. Someone please help me.

Did you by any chance eat 28000 calories above maintenance? If not, it was water weight. It's the giving up that causes regain.

no I ate less than my daily calorie count. that is why it is so frustrating. I know the Ceasar's are bad, but that should not have made me gain that much. Now i didn't drink as much water as I usually do

It did, so it must have, but it's not fat, we have estabished that, so why is it frustrating? And what's bad with Ceasar's? And what's your water drinking habits got to do with it all?

I forgot to mention I do suffer from IBS. So I am wondering if that may have something to do with it?

IBS can make you constipated and anxious, I guess?

from all the posts i have read, I do realize it is probably water gain. I usually drink 8 to glasses of water a day but didn't drink that much on the weekend. What is bad about Ceasar's is the alcohol. I do not drink alcohol during the week but on weekends I like to have a few.

    its water weight.

weight loss isn't linear, i'm surprised this is the first time your weight has increased since April TBH.

I'm happy to hear you sound a bit less worried now. You can enjoy anything in moderation, and that includes alcohol.
