Day 5 of my journey, down 3 pounds, and struggling. I am 71 years young and diagnosed COPD, therefore running and jogging are non-starters , although i do enjoy walking and hiking, i hope there is others that can advise me. I feel as though I have a circular jigsaw puzzle and no picture to guide me where the pieces go. thank you good luck in your journey.

Yeah, what exactly is it that you want to get out of this experience, Bob? There are so many people here who have probably been where you are right now, but to advise you, we need to know "where" that is. Anyways, welcome! I'm also still very new to this journey.0

You'll find lots of helpful information in the stickies - particularly in the Getting Started section since you're starting out. You might also want to check out some of the Success Stories for inspiration and to see how others who started out from a similar point as you have achieved success. Best of luck.0

Oh wow - 50 years is quite the achievement and definitely something to look forward to! There are lots of different methods you can use to lose weight, but they all come down to eating less than you burn. Getting into the habit of logging your food is a great place to start. Use a food scale to weight all solid food - measuring cups can contain very different amounts depending on how tightly you can pack food in! Next, find out what works for you. I personally find protein and fibre filling so base my meals around those, whereas for others it's fat they find most filling. You may find it easier to remove tempting foods from your home, or you may do great with allowing small portions everyday. Try different things and see what works for you - there's no one-size-fits-all solution.1
