If you are talking about the study of the stars, galaxy's and planets, then yes. However, in the belief in the Astrological signs, a little, but I don't put too much stock in them.

I never used to. But the older I get, the more I see Capricorn traits. And I also have noticed that the buttloads of Geminis with whom I'm surrounded are all very much alike.

And they all drive me crazy.

And I suspect this wasn't a serious post, but I'm asnwering seriously, anyway.

There. My stalking duties are done for the day. :-)

I never believe in any of this stuff, but most of my friends do and sometimes I get a bit ...annoyed. :) I simply dislike when something happens, they can always find something to say about the start, blahblahblah, and give me that look "See? i told ya..."

my horoscope is always freakishly right. especially when i'm going through a hard time, it seems to explain the situation exactly and tells me when it will pass. it usually passes right on time!

I used to think astrology was completely bogus until I lived with a roommate who sincerely believed in it. I'll never buy into the idea that our choices are somehow laid out for us, but could be convinced that maybe there is some influence from astrology (even if slight). And he was eerily accurate in describing people he had never met, based only on the person's time of birth. Long ago, when I was dating, I used to send him a page (hey, this was awhile ago when beepers were cool) with the girl's birthday. He would call me back with a report of whether we were a good match, and why. I wouldn't always follow his advice, but he was pretty accurate every time - and not just the crystal ball stuff that applies to everyone.

Still, I have a hard time believing anything that doesn't have some shred of science to it. My roommate explained it to me this way: He said that when we are born we experience gravity for the first time. So as we exit the womb (where we've been floating), the planets have their first effect on us. This is why the sun, moon and Mars signs are considered more influential - they affect gravity the most.

Anyway, that explanation at least opened my mind up to the possibility of astrology influence. Well, that, and the fact that Capricorns are pure awesome.

Yes. I don't think it completely defines a person, but I do believe that it can offer in depth insight to their natural tendencies. Anyone who's interested should check out: Astrology - A cosmic Science by Isabel M. Hickey.

....I don't get the 'i believe in Jesus' so therefore don't believe in astrology thought process. guess i don't need to. it is possible that this type of spirituality (or belief system) can be viewed as pagan ritual....

No, its a total bs pseudoscience and will soon go the way of alchemy and other ancient practices. It has no scientific basis and never has.

Lot's of things we currently think of as the truth also have no scientific basis.

i think it is more the power of suggestion that makes people believe in astrology. if people continually tell you that an air sign is incopatible with a water sign (i think that is right?) and you beleive it, then if you as an air sign meet a water sign you are predisposed into beleiving that it wont work out.

if astrology is to be beleived, that means that 1 in 12 people on the planet are going to "start a new chapter of their life today" and 1 out of 12 "are going to be coming into money soon" etc etc.

about 10 or so years ago. a mate and i decided that were going to capitalise on the whole phone tarot industry. I built a website that offered live video tarot readings. and at the time we were the first to do so. unfortunately due to a lack of time to be able to put in to the infrastructure (i still had to work a full time job) we were unable to make if viable. mainly because were were not able to have the site manned 24 hours a day and being in australia, the peak time was always either in the middle of the night or during our work hours. the issue was that the camera could only be set up at a single location. had i had the time i would have built it to allow operators that had the required equipment log in from home at any time they wanted.

my point of all that is that the people we had running the camera, did not beleive in tarot, nor were they talented "readers". but behind the camera the wall was plastered with butchers paper with all the cards and their so called meanings. of the tarot readings that we did sell, not one person complained or requested a refund. infact, if you look at all the ads for psychic readings, i bet a majority of them have the disclaimer "for entertainment only"

So ... thousands upon thousands of years it's been around, but it's just suddenly going to disappear? Yep. I see that happening. :-)

My Palm Reader told me that Astrology is bogus, but I'm going to have my aura read just to make sure. Just can't decide on what day. Waiting for my tea leaves to settle .

Its happened with a plethora of other things. It will happen.

Just think of all the stuff we did for hundred of years and dont do anymore. Blood letting, public execution, etc etc. Hell we thought the earth was flat AND at the center of the universe for thousands of years.
