    My idea mate is hot, lifts, gets my odd sense of humor, is creative, adventurous, hard working (I work hard so I admire this in a mate as well), likes children, can sit with me comfortably in silence or chat away for hours, understands my need for isolation/alone time.

    Damn. No wonder I've spent my life single.

    I used to really want my boyfriend to be a musician and play similar music as me (I'm a bluegrass bassist). It's just too much.

    Now I'm dating a gym guy. We have nothing in common but damn are we having fun. I am confused.

    I like shorter women, nice butts, who like movies, accepting that I’m a nerd, likes to work out (but on her own), light drinker, non smoker, who’s independent, but isn’t offended by the fact I have old school tendencies like opening the door and such. And will buy me comics.
