I guess my only suggestion would be to figure out what made you yo-yo and to work on changing that so it doesn't effect your weight loss successes.

Since 2014, I've yo-yo'd 3 times. Each time, the cause was some major emotional thing that distracted me and took my away from my fitness goals. Now I'm wiser to this - and when something emotional comes up, I don't let it get in the way of my weight loss. It's a tough thing - but it is doable.

Being someone that has yo-yo'd their entire life.. I'd say honestly you just need to find a lifestyle that suits you.

I spent a lot of time trying to hop on these quick fix diets (like keto, paleo, etc etc. ) and it's never sustainable for me. I like carbs too much. So what did I do?

Added a small fitness plan to my life. I still eat carbs. A lot of them actually. Which makes me happy, and keeps me satisfied. I just try to keep them as healthy carbs as much as possible. I'm still losing weight (33lbs so far), but I don't always feel the need to shove french fries and potato chips down my throat because I'm satisfying my body's cravings in a healthier way. (Not saying that I don't on occasion have these items though. I just add a little extra workout that day that I really need some fries lol)

I'm not saying your issue is the same as mine. But if you're cutting specific macro nutrients out of your diet or over cutting your food to lose weight quicker, that usually ends up with you caving in eventually. Your body will always get what it needs/wants.

So find your balance, the sweet sweet compromise with your body that will allow you to lose weight (even if it's slowly), but still keep you feeling like you're not depriving yourself of anything.. and you'll stick to it. (:

I regained weight too. I did it very quickly. For me, I think I had to solve the issues that I thought weight loss was going to solve (and didn't). I'm in a much better spot mentally today than I was when I first lost the weight (I think four years ago?). I think I'm at a place now where I can go at it again.

Don't think of it as yo-yo, think of it as refining your maintenance approach. You don't call someone who's weight fluctuates +/- 5lbs a yo-yo dieter. Now, I get it and have the same issue as you. You screwed up and you just have to get your mojo back. I suggest the F2F Weight Loss Challenge to help you focus--it's here on MFP and well organized team competition. Just remember, if you want to be thin you will have to work at it your whole life. We live in rich societies and are bombarded by food temptations constantly--it's no surprise that it is a struggle. Also, you are 35lbs on your way already, just keep going.
