Well I guess I begin by telling a bit about myself. My name is Jesse and I have been an athlete the majority of my life playing anything from Football, Baseball, Golf, and Wrestling. I worked 6 years in a pharmacy then moved into security work until I can join the police force. While on duty I was involved in a car accident which has left me with a severely limiting back injury and a substantial weight gain of 70lbs over 8 months. A lack of discipline and depression from not being able to be active has left me battered but certainly not broken. Although I am limited due to injuries I am determined to lean down to 195-205 range and get myself back into shape for the police force.

I am always open to constructive criticism and advice, if you have something to offer please let me know. I know this won't be an easy trek but it's going to be worth it for sure.

Hi Jesse..I kinda know how you feel...I dont have an injury but have medical issues that set me back like all the time!!! I just dont let it get me down..I have Lupus and Fibromyalgia and I can get very fatigued and have much pain some days but you know what I just get on my feet and I do my workouts and whatever else I need to do..I wont let my illness take over my life...You just kinda have to find a balance..know your limits and work within them!! Start by eating as healthy as you can and whatever you can do in the way of exercise do it! No,its not easy and you'll have your good and bad days but you will get thru them!! best of luck to you and any support or encouragement needed just let me know!! Before you know it you'll be back on the Police Force!! You can do this!! :)

Hey Im in oregon, so, hello over there. (right on washington border). I was in a car wreck 4years ago so i have a messed up hip and cant do alot of things for very long; like my friend who wants me to go to the gym and do 45minutes on the elliptical; i can do 10max and then be in pain.. so i know what you mean... i lost all of my weight without excercise; i did start some excercise at the end of june but i havent been doing much the last couple of weeks (been busy). I just did what i can, like air boxing with 3lb weights in my hand or dancing to some music with the weights, or resistance bands; lunges and tricep dips and squats, etc.. each person is different so im not sure how limiting your disability is, but just try to be as active as you can, even if its not dedicated excercise--i literally did no excercise for my first 4 months here, just was more active--like cleaning more and laundry and getting things done; cooking meals, whatever i could to move around a little more and not simply lie around 24/7. When I started excercising, i wasnt dropping weight any quicker, but it did help with some muscle definition so that was nice..

You can do everything you want to do with diet alone; but if you want a more muscular look, id do some strength training when i could.
  • I have always been a cook, and enjoy it oh so much. My specialties certainly aren't healthy alternatives, but I have quite a few healthy tricks up my sleeve. My biggest goal right now is to get back in the habit of portion control, measuring out everything and holding myself accountable by tracking my intake and exercise daily. I am extremely muscular and destroy fat very quickly, but I want to start building muscle and get that toned fit look once again.
  • Eating better was the first step, I have stocked up on groceries and eliminated everything which would be tempting from the pantry and fridge. Next is establishing a wake/sleep schedule, being on disability for 8 months is a killer to any kind of schedule you might have thought about maintaining. I am very dedicated to doing this and can't wait to see those results I know I am capable of.
