Hello everyone! Im Desiree, 23 year old female. I joined MFP a few years ago. I keep losing interest in losing weight, or giving up. I was satisfied with my weight until i gave birth to my first baby in August of 2016. I lost weight after she was born but never got back to my pre pregnancy weight. I tried to keep up with MFP but gave up. Then i had my second baby in January of 2018. Right after him i tried MFP once again. & it helped me lose 30 lbs. But, i gave up again & now I'm frustrated with my weight. I feel like now is the time to get serious about it and be happy about my appearance for the first time in a few years. I have diet pills, fat burning tea & i just ordered a fitbit online. I really want to do this & i feel like maybe this time i need friends & supporters to help me stay motivated. I don't have a support system at home so this is me reaching out to everyone on MFP. Thanks everyone 😊

Weightloss is simple - eat less, move more. You can't just try, you have to do. But I don't think "interest in losing weight" is the right approach either - maybe you should just figure out how you can eat less (and move more) without feeling you want to give up?

You have diet pills and fat burning tea - do you think that works?

I lost motivation to continue with the good eating habits and exercising i build after i had my second baby. & truthfully about the tea & pills- i have no idea if they work. I was just so frustrated with my appearance i kind of just became desperate to try anything. I have yet to use them.

I honestly think that if you lost interest, the habits weren't good in the first place. What were you doing, exactly?

All you need do is keep to within your daily cal allowance and exercise. Walking and using the fitbit as an encouragement is a great start. Pills and tea may help but its cals in and out that work. Also dont use your exercise cals to eat more, that just doesnt help

I would advise you to try this: make one very small change in your every day routine that helps you reach your goal of becoming more fit and lean. Make it so easy that it would almost be embarrasing to yourself if you don't make it. For instance: change your breakfast or lunch, cut sugar out of your coffee or tea, get your fitbit-stepgoal every day. Figure out what would work for you, but make it small.

Once that small change sticks, you can add another one... and another and another. This process takes time, but you will fundamentally change your life step by step. These lasting changes help you maintain your goal, rather than getting a quick fix. Especially with a busy family life (I have two sons ;-)).

Look at it this way: it took nine months to have your first child and another nine months to have te second. What if you gave yourself an equal amount of time to get back in to shape, so a year and a half?? You're 23, so you have time. Be kind to yourself

Welcome and certainly wishing you much luck and success. The only thing I can pass on to you is that be prepared to have patience - I started 2.5 years ago after letting myself get out of hand after many years of neglect. I’ve dropped as much as 62 pounds but bad habits found me creep back up about 20 this past year. Do what you can do to and set small goals towards your progress. You did this before you know what to do - measure don’t guess, track honestly and exercise as you can. You will get there I have faith in you. Feel free to add if you like!
