Does anyone else get dizzy and sometimes almost faint when rising up from a squat position?

Or is it just me? Lol

Does anyone know what could be causing it or how I can prevent it?

Happened to me when I was Not eating enough. I think you stated you were eating 800 cals a day in a previous post? Also, if you are switching to keto, previous post, you could be going through an adaptation phase. I am no expert. If it continues, contact a Md.

You are probably holding your breath too (as you should), but maybe for too long.

It really does sound like postural hypotension / low blood pressure.

I've had to nearly double my salt intake. It's better but I can always tell when I've been slipping. Since I cook for both of my parents as well (who have high blood pressure and other heart issues) we follow a low sodium diet. Not good for me at all. If then I also work out and sweat a lot, the dizziness is pre-programmed. I nearly blacked out in the garden the other day: not enough salt, too much water, lots of sweating, sun and heat.

My doctor also gave me drops to help out when it gets really bad. I usually have to take them for a few days and then I can leave it be for several months again.

And some of those movements are pretty hard to avoid. You can't not stand up from a chair (I was blacking out from that and did pass out at the doctor's after a similar comment of: "well, don't do it if it makes you pass out...")

I've had this since I was a teenager. My doc said I would grow out of it. It's been over 30 years. To be fair, he didn't give me a timeline. My blood pressure tends to be slightly lower than normal. Salt and water help. I also find that it's worse when I don't get enough sleep. Try tracking it to see if there are things that seem to make it worse or better.

A common mistake but no I’m not , I’ll squat to load the laundry for example and I’m fine (apart from pain and my legs going numb 😬) , then I stand up slowly and wooh seeing stars , high pitch noise go deaf blacking out. Not good docs job st say well don’t do it then but sometimes I have to do it .

Ooooohhh!!! When you said squats, I just assumed heavy squats where you are performing the valsalva maneuver. You are really just talking about standing up quickly. Yes, definitely low blood pressure. Same thing happens to me all the time. I've learned to just walk through the black/stars. Every once in a while, I'll have to bend over and brace myself for a few seconds until it passes.

I get this too sometimes. It used to be bad when I worked at a coffee shop and had to squat down to get milk out of the mini fridge. I still get it when getting off the couch too fast or when it's hot in the weight room doing deadlifts. I drink propel...
