Hello,
Im 23 yrs old and being overweight has always been a problem for me. When I was 17 I lost about 35lbs and gained it back. Now it seems like its harder for me to do it again. I'm 5'2 and I weigh 165lbs ... my goal is to weigh between 110-115lbs. I want to begin living a healthier lifestyle. The weight has also brought my self esteem down and I'm tired of people reminding me how overweight I am. I'm willing to do what it takes to lose the weight but I need a little support and advice on how I can reach my goal and maintain the weight. I joined a gym and I am clueless on what kind of workouts will boost my weight lose. I welcome any feedback.

I will greatly appreciate it....Thanks :-)

Welcome! You will find a lot of support here. I'm a newbie also and have found MFP very encouraging and informative! Add me if you'd like and best of luck on your journey!

I am also 5'2" and started at 162 lbs last October. In April I reached my goal of 120 and have since lost 6 more pounds though I am trying to maintain. I stuck with 1200 calories and walked every day (4 miles an hour) for 40 minutes and did Jillian Michaels' No more trouble zones" 3 times a week. That is what did it for me!
  • Thanks for the advice guys. i will start my workout today with walking on the treadmill for an hour. :-)
