Just got done with a three day fast.
Then ate some things that are supposed to be good for my gut. probiotics.
Yogurt (addicted)
Kombucha(eh ok)
sauerkraut(ah WFT! Blah 🤢) Maybe 3-5 Bites.
Now I’m trying to start keto. I broke my first pretty keto friendly. But I’m sure the yogurt probably kicked me out of ketosis.
What I don’t understand about Mills is does each meal have to be 70/25/5 % or by the end of the day? Week? what? So many recipes for keto but they are not in this proportion just kind of confused 🤷♂️

That's a lot going on there. Are you sure all is necessary? To lose weight, you just to et less. To eat healthily, you just need a balanced and varied diet. To improve your realtionship with food, you just need and open mind and patience.2

Try to focus.2 -
If you simmer sauerkraut for 20-30 minutes it will draw out the salt and taste more like normal cabbage, and you only need a small amount as it's more of a side. Eating too much pickled food can be bad for the tummy so I'd limit it to once a day.
Do you need to do a keto diet or do you just want to cut down on carbs? Keto can be beneficial for some diabetics in the short term because managing blood glucose is paramount, but if that's not you, you can just up your protein and veg and lower your added sugars and carbs, especially if you want to make a long term lifestyle change.
The natural sugars already present in fruit and veg are processed differently by your body than free (added) sugars like granulated, molasses, honey, nectars, syrups, fruit juice etc, so unless you're doing a very low carb diet, no fruit or veg is off limits. You need a small amount of carbs with every meal, eg a slice of bread, a wholewheat wrap, a tablespoon of cooked rice/pasta/polenta, 3 small potatoes or 1 medium baked potato.
Check if you actually need to go into ketosis to lose weight; if it's confusing for you right now it might end up frustrating you, since there's a lot of competing keto diets out there and you might not even need to be on one at all. You might just need to eat sensibly and watch your portions.3 -
The first step is admitting it. The second step is giving me all your chocolate.

Stop being a sucker for punishment.
No more fasts.
Start logging your meals. Stick in your limits.
Eat chocolate daily.2 -
Two years ago I'd have called myself a chocoholic. I resisted attempting to diet for too many years because I thought I'd have to give it up, and I couldn't see that working out.
I learned that if I weigh and log my food, I can still include some chocolate in my diet - just not as much as I would previously have liked. When I first started with MFP, I included a couple of squares of very dark chocolate every day as a treat to look forward to. (I find that the higher the cocoa content is, the easier it is for me to resist overeating it - 82% is a good spot for me personally, although I can go to 92% before it tastes bitter.)
At the start, I also had my husband keep my bars of chocolate in his office - I would have to go and ask him if I wanted more than the couple of squares I'd pre-logged. No, I'm not five, and I do have some willpower - but why strain it too much when there was so much else to think about and control in the beginning? It really helped, and after a few months I could be trusted with the stuff.
I gradually cut down on the amount I was eating, and now I can go for days with no chocolate at all. I still love it, but I don't crave it the way I used to. And if you'd told me that when I started, I would never have believed you.
So, if the idea of giving up chocolate is causing you trouble, then know that you don't have to if you really don't want to!
Can't help with the keto questions because that way of eating is not for me, but wanted to discuss the chocolate.
Oh, and the only time I've ever fasted was before medical tests. That sort of thing is not for me either - I like food!
