My husband and I just started dieting a couple of weeks go. So far, I've lost 4 pounds. I weighed in at 177 pounds when we first started. That is the most I've ever weighed in my life. We're counting calories and have started exercising. It's hard, because we both love to eat, especially sweets. But we are determined that we are going to stick with it. If anyone has any suggestions on meals or anything, I would love to hear from you. Betty

Hi there. I am also fairly new to this site (or at least new to actually using it). I've been a member for some time, but I recently re-read my copy of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle again and got motivated. It's awesome that you and your husband are doing it together. That makes it easier. I am still working on my wife to start, but you can't force anyone to do anything.
I think you're on the right track being on this site. Let me make it clear that I am not a saleman, and I don't own stock in the company so this is completely my personal opinion: If you have questions about nutrition, proper weight loss, calories, fitness, and anything else to do with leading a healthier lifestyle, Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto is an e-book that I highly recommend. There are other people on this site that are loyal followers of Tom, so it's not just me. The book is inexpensive for the info in it (in my opinion), but believe me, there is alot of info. If you're really ready to learn about nutrition, I recommend giving it a try.
Other than that, stay away from the sweets, get your protein and carbs with every meal, and eat those meals 5 to 6 times a day. And of course, work out.0 -
Welcome to MFP. I just know you will love it here, if you don't already. I love this site. It is so helpful, supportive, motivational, and everyone here is so nice, and friendly. I just wanted to tell you that you made the right choice in joining this site and good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do this.0
