Maintaining 90lb loss for two years. And this year, gradually my appetite has diminished until now i don't have an appetite at all. I barely eat 1000 a day, maintenance is 1500. Just not hungry. Had a physical 3 weeks ago and all is normal. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure you are only eating 1000 calories a day?1

How long has this been going on, and how much weight have you lost since your loss of appetite?0
-
Were you checked for depression?0

It's difficult to say without knowing age, sex, how long it's been going on etc. The older I get I find my appetite is waning (I'm mid-40s), the heat reduces it, if I exercise too much it reduces it, totm reduces it. It's 9:30pm as I post this and I have yet to crack 1000 cals even after working out and going for a walk. Do you drink a lot of coffee? That kills my appetite.
Did you tell your Doc about it? I'm sure you know how to log accurately after 90lbs but have you starting guessing your portions maybe? 90lbs takes a long time to lose, maybe your body needs to re-coup after all it's efforts?
Can't really suggest anything else hope you get it sorted0 -
I am not depressed, thankfully. My logging hasn't changed, but those foods that were a staple during the big loss almost make me sick now. Can't eat them. I am 64 and started yoga about 90 days ago... But I wouldn't think that would affect me in such a way.0

It's been going on about four months. I've lost about five pounds. Personally, I don't want to lose anymore. But really, I am at the high end of the "normal" weight for my height/weight.0

Could be psychological. You mention being at the high end of the normal weight, and although you said you don't want to lose anymore, perhaps there is actually some parts of you that would really like to be lower down that scale.
Could be boredom with your food. It can be difficult changing up the familiar and what has been previously working for us, but maybe looking for new meal ideas and all the various different food flavorings (sauces, powders, spices) available out there, could help you get that zest back.0 -
Five pounds in four months means your daily calorie deficit has been around 130, so something is off in your calculations, and that's a good thing because there's one thing less to worry about - you're not eating 1000 calories per day.
Now to your lack of appetite. It's normal to want to change things up now and then, also when it comes to food. And "diet foods" are notoriously boring. Seeking out foods you want to eat, and not worrying about weight, I'm pretty sure will bring your appetite back.8 -

I did a few months ago. Even when I was hungry I put food in my mouth and my stomach would close. I'm almost 60 and had never experienced that before.
My doctor put my on a whole30 diet, which my husband went on with me. The food was delicious and things turned around very quickly.
I also know my parents and mother-in-law have both had spells like that. Basically, they were bored with what they were eating. I think one reason the Whole30 did well for me was that it lowered my carbs but upped fat and protein and I was just eating tastier food.
A final thing to look at is salt. Sometimes people's taste becomes less sensitive. A little extra fat and salt can spark a better response. See what you think.0 -
Thanks! Sounds like what is happening to me! And believe me, I never thought I would have problems eating! I will find out what Whole30 is and see if it is for me. Thanks again.0

Boredom hit me after three months of salads (I had a bumper crop from my community garden). I had a good think about what was happening and decided to romance vegetables for ten days. I set a goal to eat a vegetable I had never eaten before every single day for ten days. I baked, roasted, and casseroled them. I stayed away from salads.
It worked.0
