Cooking Light Diet

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my thoughts about the Cooking Light Diet. Please check it out. I was really in a rut with recipe boredom. A co-worker and friend shared this diet with me and it is amazing. The recipes for breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks are amazing! My weight loss has been slow and steady (1 pound a week...sometimes 2). BUT....I eat like a queen. There are several options that include Vegetarian, Carb-Smart, Dairy Free, etc. I follow the diet plan and choose my own meals (it will also create your shopping list based off your meal choices). Then, I track in MFP for additional accountability. The plan for most is around 1200 calories. I highly recommend it. I do not feel like I'm dieting at all!!

That sounds amazing! I haven't used that diet, but I have chosen my own meals, and it is true that successful dieting is dieting that doesn't feel like dieting0

I'm a picky eater so I don't care for specific meal plans, but I'm glad it's working for you and it sounds like it's sustainable in the long-term. I do like the magazine and pick out recipes from the old ones my mom used to get.0

When my weight begins to creep, I cook my family's meals exclusively out of the CL magazines I have from 10 years ago, or the cookbooks I have. It's made a huge difference. I have imported the recipes and can log my meals quickly. I LOVE CL. I used to hate it because they used things like "fat free half and half" which made no sense to me. Now, the recipes are all whole foods.
On nights when I work out after work, I really rely on the meals that can be prepared quickly (I have one of their "Fresh Foods Fast" and "Superfast Suppers.") I also rely on the slow cooker cookbook I got years ago.
Another shout out for CL!!0 -
I'll have to check out their meal plans - I have many of their cookbooks. Skinnytaste has similar weekly meal plans, and I love her on-line and cookbook recipes for easy, healthy and delicious meals too. Most of her recipes have been logged in MFP already.0
