Introducing myself

Hey everyone!
I’m new to the app and the macros game, but I wanted to try it out! I have had a long weight loss journey, even though I’m only 18. Played offensive and defensive line all through high school, weighing in at 225 at my heaviest during my junior season. Decided I had had enough, and began to stop goofing off in the weight room and dedicate myself. Came into senior fall camp weighing 185. Started every game both ways, ended up earning a couple college offers to small schools to go play ball for them. Decided to decline, as I chose to pursue education at a larger institute, and knew that playing college football on the line they’d probably ask me to gain some weight again, which I didn’t want. So I continued working out, not running much, until January of this year, when I decided to slim down, shed the body fat (still had quite a high percentage, but only weighed 175. I’m 5’10) and ended up at my current body weight of 155. This came after a lot of running, less lifting, and what I didn’t realize was an unhealthy calorie deficit. So long story short, I am now using macros to ensure I am eating what i should be. I have gained a little bit of body fat back, but I’ve been told that once my metabolism returns to a healthy rate, I should be able to go back down in body fat if I remain in a caloric deficit

@josiahmace76 Interesting, I'm 5'10 currently 164lbs. 3 months ago I was 199lbs, all fat. I'm trying to cut down to 155 high school/ college days weight, I've ran 75 miles in July so far but I'm also doing core exercises daily and lifting a few days a week. The difference is your 18 and I'm 36. I'm running a significant calorie deficit as well but don't notice a difference in my metabolism. How do you know your metabolism rate is unhealthy? I ran a 10k yesterday under 46 minutes, so I feel great.0
