Struggling and need motivation...

Tired of feeling and looking the way I do. Feeling the lowest I’ve ever felt and needing the will to change. I love my family more than anything and feel they should be my motivation but it’s just not happening.

The harsh truth is you just have to start doing the work to change. Motivation comes and goes..but sticking to new habits and just doing the work is what will change your life and body.

Just start! The motivation will follow (again it will come and go)! After you start losing those first pounds, you will realize that you and only you can do this..and you can.

Also.. take a before picture in your bathing suit or underwear.. look at it each day to remind yourself why you are making changes.

Another truth .. eating healthy and being fit feels so much better than a plate of nasty nachos or average French fries ever did.

I have a place in my heart for people who say they want to lose weight because of their kids. People will say you have to do it for you. But how it worked for me was this.

I weighed 285 lbs, had high blood pressure, a CPAP, debilitating back pain and a seemingly permanent cough. We had 2 little kids at home. I was either going to die or maybe survive a stroke. Who would do that to 2 little kids? So in a way it was about them, but more it was about me and the kind of person I was. So I changed.

Happy to be able to say that I eventually ran them into the ground at the Orlando parks. Also they turned out health and weight conscious. Like to think I set an example. Maybe.

Log everything you have eaten today. Just log it all in. It's ok if you go over the calorie target. It's just data. Once you have it all logged in, your goal is to do a little better each day. Motivation will come later. You just need action.

I find working out first thing in the morning is the best thing! I have the most energy and the most determination. I also find starting out the day eating a healthy meal puts me on the right track to continue doing well. I have a hard time logging consistently on MFP so I use an exercise and food journal. The most important things are to take it one day at a time and always remember to get back up after you fall!
