I will not stop here

I looked like a total moron yesterday at the gym, everyone looked at me like the girl who doesn’t know what she’s doing. I felt really down and couldn’t even complete my workout. I felt weak, stupid, ugly and just not enough.
I could quit, and not come back there again. I’ve done it before, and it’s the easiest way to feel comfortable again.
But this time, no. I’m not stopping here, i’m not seeking validation from anyone. I will struggle but I’m not going to quit. I will keep fighting.
Afterall, we all start somewhere. Isn’t it?
So hey, let’s do it, let’s work our *kitten* off, let’s sweat and let’s tear, let’s not give up today❤️

Honestly, most people at the gym are more concerned with themselves and probably didn't pay a moment's notice to you.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and just because you're new to something, it doesn't make you ugly, stupid or a moron. As someone who has been training a lot, I find those people who start out with no idea and keep trying week in, week out, always getting stronger and better inspiring.

Perhaps consider getting some personal training sessions with one of the gym trainers so you can be shown how to do exercises and taken through a proper program that should enable you to progress.

I agree with poster above. Although obviously felt self conscious I bet most over people in there didn't look upp you in the way you felt.

Sometimes we need to push the envelope of our comfort zone. So it stretches and what was uncomfortable or awkward becomes the new normal for you.

    You have this.

I am proud of your for your motivation and positivism! Whenever I am at the gym and see someone who may not know where they're going, how to use a machine, etc., I ALWAYS offer my assistance! A gym should be a place of support and camaraderie. Trust me, the fact that you were there and committed to your health means that you belong there, even if you feel like you stick out (which you DON'T)! :)

Keep up the great attitude and feel free to add me here!

    Do keep at it!

You know these people in the gym that you look at and you think "she looks incredible, she's working hard and she knows what she's doing"
Well once upon a time she had a day just like you.

My partner has recently started body building. He said he felt a bit like you described but then he went and spoke to the biggest guy in there and he said that he was my partners size when he started body building and 2 years later he was massive! He also said no one ever spoke to him in the gym because they appeared to be intimidated by his size.

My partner said he then saw it as motivation, not intimidation. Every time he goes to the gym and sees a body builder he's reminded of what he's in there to achieve

Also, not sure what gym you go but are there instructors there who can show you the equipment? There's no shame in not knowing.
I always have to ask how to adjust the seats on the weights lol even though I go pretty frequently

Everybody is new at the gym. I am sure no one thought anything Ill of you!
You know what helped me was I bought a book on basic weight use technique for women....guess it doesn't matter Male or female. I scoured it and my technique and confidence improved.
You keep going...you paid dues too! Before you know it...you will look like a professional!
