Salad Dressing?

I'm wondering what kinds of dressing everyone likes?

I definitely don't come from a family of salad eaters and I'm trying to eat more of them and the more of them I eat, the more I realize that I really don't like ranch dressing!

I'm a little afraid to try new things though! Are there any dressings with kind of a spicy kick to them at all?

Any help is much appreciated!

    lite olive oil vinagrette

    Oil and balsamic

Ken's lite italian is great for a marinade (little high in sodium though)
  • i love ken's honey mustard dressing... i don't like mustard at all and this has a bit of a "kick" to it (for me).

    Hi,

Go to allrecipes.com and search for salads, or salad dressings.

Try Good Seasons Spicy italian dressing mix - make the no-oil recipe or use less oil than they call for. If you like creamy dressing replace the oil with plain yogurt.
  • Walden Farms Dressing (at Wal-Mart) are really good. Comes in Ranch, Creamy Bacon, Thousan Island, Blue Cheese, & more than I can't think of right at this moment. It has No calories, fat, sugar, carbs, etc. REALLY good & you can have as much as you want!

Ooo, if you like a spicy kick you might try this...I take ranch dressing (you can use the low-cal but you're going to cut it in half anyway) and I mix it with equal parts SALSA, baybay! It's spicy yet smooooth. And it has so fewer calories than just using Ranch dressing!

There's is one that my mom likes :

-Olive oil (extra virgin) / you go with the size of your salad
    -little bit of garlic
-red wine vinegar / 1 tablespoon
-dijon mustard or honey mustard / 1 tablespoon
    -little bit of maple sirup
    -any spices that you like

mix it all up and there you go.

I love Kraft Roasted Red Pepper with Parmesan. It does have a little kick to it because of the pepper, and is only 40 calories for 2 Tbsp. Yum!
  • Renee's sweet onion (sooo good!!) - 40 cals per 15 ml (tablespoon)
Renee's spring herb italian - 20 cals per 15 ml.

Newman's Own dressings are good. I ussually make my own though with some lemon and lime juice and salsa. You might like that if you are looking for a kick

I found a recipe for a lime dressing that I really like. It's 2 tablespoons EVOO, the juice from half a lime, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Whisk together and enjoy! (I cut the salt down a little on this one because it seemed like a bit much, but I really like this dressing!)

I also like Annie's Organic Honey Mustard Vinaigrette. Really low in cals and super yummy!
