I went for a long walk/jog and the calories looked so low. I’m always told for every mile walked it’s about 80 calories and jogging 100.

Running is normally stated as being twice as inefficient a movement (double the calories) compared to walking and it will be in relation to your body weight and not a constant amount for everyone.

    Here's common formulae....
Net Running calories Spent = (Body weight in pounds) x (0.63) x (Distance in miles)
Net Walking calories Spent = (Body weight in pounds) x (0.30) x (Distance in miles)

The calorie burn looks a little low to me, but I plugged it into my favorite calculator, and if you're just under 150 lbs, it's probably pretty close to right... https://www.exrx.net/Calculators/WalkRunMETs

    Sorry.

So that would be about 400kcal for walking or 830kcal -ish for running. I'd still err on the low side

    167 * .3= 50 calories per mile.
