I prelog my meals to include foods I enjoy, the number of meals I like, and in quantities to fit my calorie goal and macro breakdown.
During the week I eat the same meals every day (but a variety across the day) to make planning and prep easy.1 -
I'm about to meal prep now.
Got 1.5kg chicken breast and 6pc of chicken legs ready to be shoved in the oven. 300g rice which I'll add sautéed peppers and onions too. And I'm also making season sweet potatoes (again oven baked) to go with my chicken for the days I'm not having rice.
Snack wise, I'm going to make peanut butter sandwiches and chocolate spread sandwiches on protein bread. I fill out the rest of my meal plan with yoghurt, fruits and shakes which don't need to prepped in advance.2 -
I don't really meal prep.. but I do cook my chicken for lunches and freeze it. I boil and bake chicken breasts, weigh and portion and freeze them. Then I defrost when I need it and add it to vegetables, salad or eat it plain.0

I make plans to prepare a roast of some kind on Sundays, then use the meat in various dishes throughout the week. I fill in with vegetarian dishes based on tofu or lentils. Here's a sample plan.
I made up this plan for someone who could not tolerate gluten or milk.

I plan a week of meals using a Microsoft work table then make a shopping list of what I need. I log all the meals into myfitnesspal and make sure each day I'm getting everything I need before I go buy the stuff. Go out, buy buy buy on maybe a Saturday and cook it all up on the Sunday. My lunches are mainly high protein, vegan soups so I freeze them and defrost every morning. My snacks I keep in the fridge and make my dinner every other night ((my dinners make for 2 so I put half in the fridge for the next night)). As a student, this is a pretty good method for me and keeps me budgeted. Also stops me from impulsively buying food when I'm hungry and cba to cook. x
The longer you do it the quicker it gets cos most of my meals are already saved on mfp so it doesn't take long at all.0 -
I will often make a variance of the same meal for both lunches and dinners.
I have a Sous Vide machine (I use a Joule) which makes my meal prep so much easier! I can preheat the water when I leave work remotely so the water is heated when I get home. I throw in the protein when I walk in the door and by the time I take the dogs out and do the daily necessary chores, its all cooked and I just need to sear it off in the pan and make sides.
Snacks:
Yogurt (I splurge and get the Yoplait Oui, my fiance likes the Dannon Greek Light & Fit)
Cheese (I like the single fresh mozzarella ball, fiance likes the orange and white twisted string cheese)
Lindor Truffles (I get 2, he gets 1)
Single Serve Chips (for the fiance only, I don't find them necessary, and I'd rather have the extra truffle =P)
Breakfast:
Good Life Cottage Cheese w/ fruit on the bottom (for me)
Instant Grits w/ a pat of butter (about 1/2 tbls) and 1 tbls brown sugar (for the fiance)
Lunch and Dinner--one protein and one side for lunch/one protein and two sides for dinner
Protein:
Chicken Breast
Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs
Pork Chop
Pork Loin
Lean Steak/Beef
Sides:
Frozen Steamfresh Sides (or store brand equivalent)
Pasta Roni Noodle Sides
Rice a Roni Rice Pilaf
Mashed Potatoes
Steamed Rice
I make my grocery list on friday during lunch, and go to the store friday after work. since I stick to the same meal plan every week my grocery list is usually similar. On Sundays I season and vacuum seal the protein into portioned bags so I can easily just throw it into the preheated water in the Sous Vide.
I make lunches for Mon-Wed on Sundays and Thurs-Fri lunches on Wednesday.
I do like to have something different at least once a week, and those are the nights I'll either try a different recipe or we'll go out to dinner. but most of the time we are sticking to the same meal plan.
