Hi, I’m looking to start running and wondered if anyone knows of any good apps to use to follow progress. Cheers

Couch to 5k is a great way to go. There are tons of iterations of this program (and apps) that are all designed to take you from being able to walk briskly for 30 min to being able to run continuously for 30 min over 8-12 weeks (depending on which specific program).0

I use Nike Run and Runkeeper, both have coaching programs to go coach to 5k. Remember to take it slow, running shorter distances to start will help you avoid injuries and setbacks.0

Couch to 5k is awesome and has a 10k version for if you catch the bug and decide you want to go further. Now I've mastered running for 30-40 minutes at a time I'm loving Zombies Run! as it keeps my mind occupied and shuts up the little voice in my head that complains :-)

I'm also a mad Zombies Run! app fan. I started with their (then free) Couch to 5K programme, and then signed up for the main app. The learning curve on the training app is a little steeper than others, I believe.
I would definitely recommend a C25K app or programme if you want to start running. The Zombies Run! one is great, but nowhere near the only one out there. The NHS has a programme which can be downloaded as a podcast, or an app or is explained so you can do it yourself if you don't have a smart phone.

The ZR5K app was the only one I could finish out of all the couch to 5k apps I tried. I think it's because the story kept it interesting and the workouts were broken up into more than just walk and run intervals which kept it from getting too repetitive.0

There are two different types of app that answer your question. Coaching apps that'll help you learn to run, and tracking apps that record your performance and slow you to see how you've developed.
Some of the latter also have coached plans so do both.
Personally I like Endomondo, it'll do plans for everything up to 40 miles. Strava and Runkeeper also do coaching.
I personally wouldn't recommend Runtastic, Nike or MapMyFitness, but others like them.
For the former category you've got Couch to 5K with several apps. The challenge with those is that once you've finished, what do you use?
Zombies gets a good name but personally not my scene.1 -
I'm starting Day 1 of Couch to 5K in about 45 minutes when traffic on the main road I have to cross slows down and I can get across without waiting too long.1

i had good luck with a free c25k. i moved on to bridge to 10k after.
do the rest days. go slow. wear good shoes-preferably go and get fitted at a local store. the store might have a beginners group too. a local store often has good information on resources for beginner runners too0
