Hello, my name is Adele. I’m 32 yo, an Army Veteran and I love Brazilian Jiu jitsu. It’s been a long time but since getting out of the Army I have gone down hill! I used to be very fit but now I am nowhere near in shape and have some physical limitations. I have been on and off with bjj which I found about 3 years ago and I love it, alas life usually gets in the way but I have been trying to be more and more consistent with it! I have done MFP before but admittedly I have not stuck with it!😞 I need to change that and create a new and good habit to help with this process! Any help, accountability, encouragement, and tips are appreciated greatly!

Welcome! I am a woman veteran as well. I found I used to set up these ridiculous mental traps for myself, which usually involved a plan to run five miles every day starting tomorrow. Yes sure I was capable once upon a time but I had no free time and was not fit enough for that to be realistic. This past month, I try for two miles every other day. I’ve lost 11 pounds with hardly any effort and I wake up excited! The lesson for me is the easier the plan the more likely I’ll be to make it permanent. If you love bjj can you incorporate any moves into a home workout you can do in 20 min, no matter what?

Yes! Love that! Thank you for your service girl! What was your MOS? I was 31B MP. It’s so true I do the same thing them when I can’t do stuff I get discouraged and quit! Thank you for the help! I’m going to look into doing some simple movements to help with the bjj!!!🙌🏼
