Through your weight loss/fitness journey do you have a song that has become like your theme song? Or even a song that just gets you pumped up and motivated every time?

For me it's Hot Chocolate - I believe in miracles (you sexy thang) <<<it's what I'm striving to be :)

Hot and Cold by Katy Perry... I just love the tempo and the lyrics make me laugh a little. Plus occasionally I break out into lip syncing..

  • Well my theme song is and always will be Trains "Drops of Jupiter". Hard one to spot huh? However when working out, I revert back to anything by Hendrix, Stones and Zepplin.

For lyrics....its Bon Jovi 'it's my life' all the way.

For getting me moving, its pitbull (anything I have heard but my fave is On the Floor with Jennifer Lopez) and Katy Perry. I have also been groovin' to Britney Spears stuff more lately when I never really did listen to her before.

Another song just popped into my head, though I haven't listened to it in a long time...by Travis Tritt's 'Its a great day to be alive' is a good 'get you out of a bad mood' song.

(This is a shout out to my fellow geeks!) Songs by composer John Williams will pump me up! Including the Superman Theme, Indiana Jones Theme, Star Wars, and "Duel of the Fates" from the Star Wars Prequels.

    I'm Coming Out~Diana Ross

There's a new me coming out
And I just had to live
    And I wanna give
    I'm completely positive
    I think this time around
    I am gonna do it
    Like you never do it
    Like you never knew it
    Ooh, I'll make it through

The time has come for me
To break out of the shell
    I have to shout
    That I'm coming out

    I'm coming out
I want the world to know
    Got to let it show
    I'm coming out
I want the world to know
I got to let it show

I have a few that work for me, depending on the day. Fighter by Christina Aguliera, Body Movin' by the Beastie Boys and All Fired Up by Pat Benetar are the first that come to mind.

These aren't necessarily theme songs, but they definitely get me in that 'I can tackle anything' mood:

    Can't Stop -- RHCP

    Imitosis -- Andrew Bird

    E-Pro -- Beck

Mine is "My give a damn's busted" by Jodee Macina (I think that's how she spells her name). Because I don't give a damn anymore what people think when I'm walking with my hands in the air, or trying to run on the middle school track down the street. I used to get annoyed and quite frankly embarrassed by people staring at me, but now I just don't care what they think. I am doing it for me, and me alone.
