saddle bags - help!

I have always had a problem when taking my measurements as to what measurement I should use when taking a hip measurement. Is your hip measurement supposed to be the widest part of your thighs (which would be my enormous saddle bags) or exactly at the hips ignoring the saddle bags? I have never tried to order clothes on line as I am never sure what measurement I should take. Also of interest - I heard on a documentary yesterday that men prefer a shape of .7 in women no matter their size (divide waist measurement by hip measurement). So you could be a dress size 8 or 18 and as long as this calculation came out to .7 you would be desirable to men. Again I have the same dilemma - where do I measure? My saddle bags never disappear no matter my size. I guess they get smaller but they are really the last to go unfortunately.

    I share your thighs

Sadly, you should measure at your widest part... in our case, not the hips but lower.

I work retail clothing: Hips for my company is the widest part around your seat AKA your toosh! Often people think we are asking for the measurement around the hip bones, that is not the case. We want the butt measurement. Happy shopping!

The "hip" measurement is actually the widest part around your butt.

Ladies should measure hips at fullest part of their butt, so this should take in your (Saddlebags)...love that description.
