Hi! Curious about bulletproof coffee. I currently wake, run 2-4 miles, then have a keto friendly breakfast. By noon I am STARVING! Anyone do bulletproof coffee? Instead of or in addition to breakfast? Does it effect your digestion/exercise?
Any and all feedback welcome!

Eat when you're hungry, eat what you like, don't eat too much, and try to ignore nonsense and fads. It sounds boring, I know - sorry but not sorry!15

My recipe for bulletproof coffee: 1 cup black coffee, 1 TBSP Coconut Oil, 1 tsp real butter and 1/2 tsp Stevia. Normally I drink regular coffee black, but when I make bulletproof, I consider it a Latte and feel like I'm treating myself to something nice. Mine contains Zero Carbs and about 153 calories per mug or standard kitchen coffee cup. I use a hand blender to make sure it is completely incorporated or it will be an oil slick. I use a large plastic cup to blend then pour it back into my coffee cup. Every now and then, I will also add about 2 cap fulls of 0 calorie flavoring such as salted carmel or hazelnut or french vanilla. It makes it a touch sweeter and adds such a yummy flavor. You can make this with regular or decalf coffee (therefore you can even have some at night to help with the nightly snack cravings.) The flavorings are also Zero Carb if you buy the sugar-free ones. I order mine from Amazon since Walmart only carries the full sugared ones at my local store. Skinny girl makes them and so do many others. My bulletproof coffee keeps me full for about 3 hours (I'm still a big girl). Sometimes I use it to replace my breakfast or my lunch. It's okay for Diabetics too because it is sugar free. Best of luck to you.7

I eat a much lower calorie version of BPC throughout the morning. Mine involves whipping cream or coconut cream with some protein powder. It's more like 100-200 kcal over travel mug rather than 500.
It is all I eat until 1 or 2 pm most days.0 -
I used to mix in coconut oil with my coffee when I was desperate to get calories in. It was a quick and non-filling way (for me) to increase cals and helped me gain weight.1

If you use MCT oils, it might improve exercise. Since MCT are metabolized quickly and in the liver, you can often see increases in energy levels, where LCT take much longer to breakdown and convert into energy.2 -
If it works for you.0

I put a tablespoon of coconut oil in my coffee every morning before breakfast, then another in my after breakfast coffee.0

I'd rather eat those calories personally. I've tried BPC but don't get the hype.4

Never use sweeteners or cream so I just do black coffee with one tablespoon of MCT. I also eat bacon & eggs too.2

I like a cup of Bulletproof coffee every now and then as an afternoon pick-me-up or as an alternative for grabbing a snack. I normally make a 16 oz french press and blend it in my Blendtec with 1/2 tbsp of Brain Octane, 1/2 tbsp of unsalted butter, and a pinch of stevia for about 30 seconds. Sometimes I'll add some king of sugar-free syrup if I'm feeling fancy.
It seems to hold me over from meal-to-meal pretty well, and it works well as a pre workout foe me. Plus, I just love coffee in pretty much any form, so a cup of Bulletproof coffee is a good alternative to a sugary drink from Starbucks.1 -
If you want a kick with conventional coffee/espresso, try Cafe Bustelo!0
